Was visiting from out of town and some friends brought me here. I was absolutely blown away. Nothing has made me want to live in Detroit more than Lost River. If I was in the area I'd absolutely be a regular. Cocktail prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Found a chocolate rum here that I fell in love with. Bartender was more than happy to write down the name for me. Have been trying to find an excuse to get back ever since. Believe that I'll be stopping here if I'm in Detroit.

Best drinks best prices and most of all the most friendly bartenders you'll ever meet. Just went to the last call event and I'm sad to know that they are closed. This was my go to place. The vibe you get there is calming and very welcoming. One of the best bars in Detroit!

My friend and I were doing a "duck hunt" bar hop for a tiktok video (acejr.5). We went to five different places and this was our last stop and my least favorite. I despise locations that have hard to find parking so we almost left after circling the place a few times. The smell was wild when we walked in but once I realized it was due to their fog machines they had running I felt a little better. The atmosphere is unique with their swamp theme. It truly felt like we were transported into a little cabin on a swamp, smell and all! The service was a little slow but it looks like there was only one person running drinks out to tables. They ran out of ducks so the server put a dirty rubber chicken in our drink instead. I applaud the effort and it gave me a good giggle but it was pretty gross to see dirt caked around it when I pulled it out. We waited about ten minutes to get our bill and about the same amount of time for her to process it. There are many cool bars out there with better service, ambience, and overall a lot cleaner so it is safe to say that though it was fun, I will not be coming back.

the overall theme and decor of this place is really cool. they had netting on the ceiling, fog machines, swamp lamps and pictures of the swamp monster, however the smell that hits you as soon as you open the door is very off putting. my friend and i sat for about 10 minutes before we were greeted. our drink came with a rubber chicken that looked like it had dirt on it and this was IN our drink. when i asked the server for our check it took 10 more minutes for her to bring it. keep in mind this place is not that big and there were not many people. i watched her clean glasses and reorganize the bar while we're were waiting to leave. it was cool so see once but i have no need to go back.

Loved this bar! Perfect atmosphere and perfect drinks. Staff was so friendly. I'm a fan of Vegas Tiki bars and the Lost River did a great job of making me feel like I was on vacation.

Go for the drinks stay for the fun! The atmosphere is great for a date night or just hanging with friends. Many drinks to choose from and quite a large rum selection. The ambiance will make this one of your favorite goto's. Check out their website for Spotify music lists you can listen to at home.

Best tiki bar in the greater Detroit area I've been too. It's small so get there early! Great drinks and staff, always a good time.

One of my good friends is a tiki-aficionado and this is his favorite tiki bar! I was happy to finally be able to come and pay this spot a visit with him and my goodness the VIBES HERE ARE BEYOND IMMACULATE! What's a word that could describe something more perfect than immaculate? I can't think of one, but whatever that word is - Lost River is that vibe!! From the moment we walked in, they had Gilligan's Island playing and projected onto one of the walls, a smoke machine puffing out smoke every 5-10 minutes (we stayed here for several hours and it got increasingly smokier and smokier as it got darker and darker as well LOL, but the smoke never bothered us and added some seriously delightful ambiance!), and just the cutest decor as far as the eye could see, which wasn't far because of the previously stated smoke machine! All the drinks here are so CREATIVE and all come in extremely delightful and fun GLASSWARE! There are several non-alcoholic options too, so a non-drinker like me can partake in the fun as well! I can't recommend this spot enough! My friends truly ran the gambit in all the different drinks they tried on the menu and all were delightful, so I don't even have specific recommendations for you, it just depends on what kind of drinks you enjoy! The service was also so wonderful and the bartender that was serving us was so personable and fun to talk to as well - joined in to our conversation at many points and was such a delight! There was also a food truck outside in partnership with Lost River for a bit there and they carried some delicious foodstuffs there too that you could then bring into the bar to enjoy as well! Absolutely loved it and even though it's a bit out of the way in terms of spots I typically frequent in Detroit, I'll always make a point to stop by here in the future whenever I can because it's just that fun!!!
