First and last time! I walked in sunday morning, 03-10-2024 and the waitress with glasses is incredibly hostile, dishonest, and poorly trained. I try to write good reviews, unfortunately this is not the case. I was a server for a long time and never saw someone with such low quality service. What’s crazier is I was the only customer there. As soon as I walked in, I said good morning, and instead of greeting me she said “door dash?”That’s not how you greet a customer. Due to my dietary restrictions, I was asking questions about certain meals, and the waitress was not very accommodating and giving me the death stare. I ended leaving without ordering because her attitude towards me. I called later on to give feed back about my experience, and the same waitress picked up. I asked if she was the one who took my table and she lied and said no. I then asked for a manager and she told me she’s the manager. I tried being kind and giving her feed back but she completely lost it. The “manager” started to curse at me on the phone. Instead of apologizing, she was screaming at me on the phone and admitted that she’s the waitress I was complaining about. I then said, “so you lied to me” and She said that “yes I’m a liar and I didn’t do nothing wrong.” I wouldn’t have called if she did something right lol. It gets worse, she proceeds to accuse me of trying to set her up. I just wanted breakfast and she ruined that for me. Idk what this lady’s issue but she does not deserve to be a server and if she is the manger even worse.What a great representation of Motown Cafe and Grill!

Baby, it's a yes. It's a yes, a yes, a yes. Lemme put you on! Order from Uber eats! Now yes, you're gonna pay a tad bit more BUT! The special I got was buy one get one! I asked for one grilled and one fried and omg they gave it to me! The hashbrowns aren't burnt or crunchy! They actually have a decent amount of potatoes in them! Portions. Oh yeah. I could barely eat the whole thing in one sitting. Honestly I preferred the grilled over the fried. They weren't nasty but the grilled BANG - U HEAR ME! I've never been here before so I wasn't sure if it was a regular coney or what- but lemme tell you ITS NOT! If you're thinking about it- go ahead

Went there to grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich today ask to use the bathroom but she replied the bathroom was closed sounded weird to me being it's a restaurant and no warning labels on it said by this rude Caucasian lady at the register not pleasant at all I still ask for a coffee and ask what's wrong with the bathroom she still was hesitant to speak.... And said it's for paying customers. I was mad as hell I live and do work in that area paying customer for years and family that was judging the situation wrong I understand bums,trouble makers etc. but come on!!!!!!!! I will let everyone know to dodge this place at all cost because how she acted she been running customers away so everyone stay away from this place. I will let all my family in that neighborhood know as well

I would advise against ever going to this place. Food as nominal, then we got the bill. They added a 20% tip, as well as a charge for using credit card. Our bill was 23 dollars, and we walked out having to pay over 30 dollars. Cafe is dingy with unkept booths, ripped seats, warm food, unfriendly wait people. They should at least warn people about their ADD ONS!!! I leave a tip when it is deserved. Also I know that credit card companies charge for using them.......but $1.37 for a charge is not right. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN and have warned all 500 employees where I work to stay away.

I love discovering little spots like this to grab breakfast or lunch while working in Detroit. I ordered chicken & waffles...apparently they serve fresh chicken with the waffles, opposed to frozen, that's why it was $15. Good, fast service.Edit: because of fees added, I will not be back. The tip I give my server, will always depend on the service received. It should NEVER be included.

We came here yesterday for a late brunch. We were the only ones there which we thought was kind of cool. The staff was nice, but the food was just okay. I got a spinach and feta omelet with turkey sausage. The meat was dry and not incorporated into the omelet. The $15 chicken tender appetizer I ordered to go was dark and bland tasting. There was two of us, and the server put 20% in the bill automatically, taking the bill to over $60. I highly doubt if I'll be back.
