Ate here while in town from Chicago and it felt comparable to any great restaurant there. The food was memorably delicious and the service was top notch. Hope to come back again and highly recommend.

Incredible flavors, incredible service, incredible overall experience.Everything that was prepared for our table not only had a gorgeous presentation, but also exquisite flavor. From the scallops, to the steak, to the octopus, and even the mac and cheese made for a picky toddler, it was an amazing dining experience. And the dessert! Just WOW! Their pastry chef is truly gifted.A must try!!!!!Kid-friendliness: They were able to make specific accommodations for children

One of the best in Detroit. A fine variety of Italian inspired dishes with wonderfully inventive pasta and worthwhile prie fixed choices. It can get a little loud when it is crowded though.Parking: Fenced parking next to the restaurant.

5 out 5 stars!! Excellent food and phenomenal service! First time at Oak and Reel and it’s a definite must try! We will definitely be returning customers! Four course meal was awesome and tried a good portion of the menu. I can honestly say the quality was off the charts great along with the atmosphere and restaurant layout. Portion sizes were solid as well. Finally and most importantly, our server was incredible, professional and knowledgeable. Patrick B, awesome service and much appreciated! Please show this to your manager at my request! Will be back! Sincerely Rob and Emmily

Each dish was beauifully presented and delicious. Staff was respectful of our time for dinner prior to attending a show at the Fisher Theatre. With a 5:15 reservation, we had adequate time to fully enjoy a 4-course dinner prior to the 7:30 show. Upscale Italian with a seafood lean. Classy and delicious without being pretentious.

Outstanding service! Our waiter Christopher was amazing and so helpful, especially considering one of us is a vegetarian. He went straight to the chef to make sure we could be accommodated. Our dishes were perfect, and the desserts were unique and delicious. Atmosphere was also spectacular. Will not hesitate to go back! Don’t forget to get dessert!!!Vegetarian options: They will accommodate your needs and very your dish to make it vegetarian! That are amazing!

The food is outstanding, i have tried many things on the menu and nothing disappoints. My party all ordered the chef’s tasting and it was a great selection and portion size. Service was impeccable and attentive- definitely worth checking out!

I must say this will be a mixed review. Out of four of us dining, two were unhappy with their dishes. Me? My Mezcal drink needed more simple syrup (which was a quick add), but I love Mezcal but this one lacked the deep smokiness that most fulfill on. They each had the banana drink and really liked it. I’ve never ordered spaghetti in my life, but lobster and spaghetti just sounded right for the evening. I was pleased with it. My friends, however found their pastas over salted and one thought her mushroom risotto tasted like fish so she send it back. I think it was just the type of cheese they used. The initial arugula salad I thought was wonderful, but another friend found it too bitter. Radicchio will do that. Ambiance was good once the restaurant filled and service was mixed. One server peppered my dish and then walked away not even asking who else wanted pepper. He seemed to have an err about him that wasn’t hospitable. In all, I was expecting a bit more from this establishment based on Hour Detroit write-ups, etc. Next Detroit restaurant, here we come.
