Definitely in my top 5 Thai places I ever ate at

Food is really good but I should have left it sitting right there on a counter becuse I was told that I could not use the bathroom. I was an paying customer not someone off the street.

I would give zero if possible. They gave away my food to the wrong customer and still treated me poorly while waiting for my food still. A couple times the employee told me AGGRESSIVELY to sit down and wait my turn even though I’ve been waiting an extra 15 minutes past the 20 I waited for my original meal. they could have been much more accommodating and kinder. Never coming back here and recommend you make a unique name I guess if you do come here or else your food may be gone.

Not Authentic Pad Thai, no spice level of any kind, causing no taste.

This was my FAVORITE place pre-COVID downtown. Sadly they have lost their quality. Come here for incorrect orders, overcooked crab wontons, and sloppy packaging.

Loved the food and big portions. The staff were very helpful with my questions over the phone. They only do to take out orders now, no dine-in, a result of the pandemic id imagine. And they deliver through some delivery apps. It was fine by us, we picked up as it was close to our Hotel, the Antheneum??

Use to be one of my favorites before the Covid but now it’s no longer on my list of restaurants to visit. I went today as soon as they opened up and my order tasted like yesterday’s warm overs. Just terrible!!!!!

Hadn't been here since Covid started (2019) and I'm sad to say it's no longer a restaurant I will patronize. I went there at 10:30a upon them opening up and I could tell the food was not fresh. The food tasted old and was warm up from yesterday's stash. Another one bites the dust.

I had an absolute terrible experience with this place and I didn't even get the food I ordered. I ordered food from there Friday got to the placed before close but the already were closed, keep in mind I already placed the order and paid for it i knocked on the window and nobody answered the door so I then called Orchid today cause they're close over the weekend. They were rude over the phone continuously cutting me off and not letting me speak and we I did have a chance to speak they let me know that they wouldn't remake my order or give me a refund because it happened on Friday and today is Monday, to which I had to make couple more phone calls till I could get my money back. F*** Orchid I never got my food the people that handle they're calls are rude this would have been my first go there but now I will never go again.

Straight up, the absolute worst Thai food (or food) I have EVER had (and that's a lot). Chicken satay - way overcooked, flavorless. Like a sad chicken breast you'd eat alongside some canned green beans at a retirement home. Medium pad Thai - how can something be entirely flavorless and waaaay to spicy at the same time? Idk, but they figured it out. Chicken was measly, sparse (we paid for extra chicken too, and it was bone dry). Tofu tod at least gave us a laugh. Watery, meager, flavorless, but almost so bad it was funny. Pak pak, medium spice, was so spicy I couldn't even taste it. I love love love spicy food that has complexity and flavor, but this tasted like nothing, but it really hurt our mouths. And lips. And stomachs. 0 pleasure or taste. Idk how you even pull this off. We ordered some other stuff that we didn't even bother to try because our MEDIUM SPICE dishes are currently destroying our GI tracts. We don't splurge a lot on food, and this was so disappointing. We both made frozen Salisbury steaks after trying everything and trying to be optimistic. It was THAT awful.

This is my favorite Thai food place in Detroit. They have good food and give great portions.

I got the drunken noodles and as blown away. Really huge serving sizes and great flavor. The location is in downtown but I was able to find curbside parking in front of the restaurant easily. There was a huge indoor seating area but it was all closed for COVID. Great place for Thai food takeout.

Before the Covid crisis, I used to frequent Orchid Thai all of the time. I am finally working back in downtown and ordered what used to be my usual. Well first thing is, the food went from $8-9 for lunch to $16-17. For that big price, I would expect better quality food. What I got was terrible. The description says chicken breast in it. What was in my container and not even edible was stringy, tough, jerky like texture that I would not even pass as chicken. I would rather spend that money on a chain restaurant like PF Changes for that same price and get way better quality food. Very disappointed. I will not be going back.

Pad prik curry was decent. Not too spicy. A little heavy on bamboo but adequate vegetables. Would get again. Drunken noodles 1-2/5. Way too salty without any spice. Would not order again. Overall would trial again a separate curry, consider pad Thai.
