OMG good! I popped in for some pie and ended up getting pie, the soul weekend special and some body items from the pop up shop in side. The service was impeccable. Okay. So let's get into the food. I'm only did the original sweet potato pie minis (2/$8) and it was so good. The pie filling itself but that crust was so delicious. Buttery and smooth. Now the surprise of surprise... the soul food special. I got the salmon croquettes and honey I was instantly transported to my mother's kitchen. I haven't had croquettes in about 15 yrs. The sides were the perfect accessory. I took two bites in the car and had to call them before hitting the road to let them know it was just that good. Do yourself a favor and go here. Now! I will definitely be returning the next time in the area.

This is a wonderful Black-owned business nestled in Old Redford. Do yourself a favor and try their sweet potato pie, sweet potato cheesecake, or their collard green soup!!! It's an intimate place with room to dine in. They are usually bustling on the weekends and when the Redford Theater has a show going. They are attentive and restock things that sell quickly. There's also an area that offers items for sell from local vendors and artists. Drop in and keep this Black business thriving!

Last time I was here I got the catfish with friend corn and Mac and cheese it was all seasoned to perfection and delicious, today I got the soup and a slice of pound cake and both were very good I love this location the staff is kind and welcoming this is a must stop if you are in the area.

I found this little gem while roaming around the Eastern Market. They had a booth there that I could not resist. I bought the individually sized sweet potato pies with pecans and a few cookies. That sweet potato pie has won my heart! I ended up making the 90 minute commute back to the market to stock up on more of these little pies. They are great to have in the freezer just in case you get a sweet tooth that won't quit. I was also thrilled to read that the black eyed pea soup can be made vegan, which makes me very happy! If you're in the area, make sure you take the time to shop small and support this wonderful place, you'll be glad you did.
This order was brought to me via door dash.. I ordered a Sweet potato cake, sweet potato 4" pie and black eye pea and collard green soup. Let's start with the soup... I didn't get to taste it. As you can see this leaked completely through the brown bag it was placed it. The moment i lifted this bag, the entire container went through it and on the floor. REALLY!!! Horrible order packing on this one. As you can see the bag had no chance... sigh... Next up the sweet potato cake... I didn't get that either. Apparently they were out of it. That's truly the only thing i wanted. Rather than the restaurant reach out and ask about a substitution or refund option, they subbed the item on their own with cheesecake!!! They then had the audacity to UPCHARGE me for the cheesecake that I didn't even ask for nor want. Are you kidding me????It would have take 2 minutes of basic customer service to not lose a customer.

Cute bake shop with limited hours so check before going. I bought a whole pie to serve at Thanksgiving, the flavor is good but the pie was more like a tart. Very little filling. I have purchased from them before like the sweet potato ice cream with nuts is great or the cake. Guessing they are cutting back or I received an error. Delicious, reminds me of my grandmother's in taste, just very little of the filling.

This was my first time there. I came early because I didn't know how the parking would be. I use a cane and I wanted to get a spot right in front of the building.I was glad I did because the is very tricky right in that are. Although I was the first one there, by the time they opened, it was already 12 people in line to go in so I decided that I better get in line. I was fortunate that I was standing with people who allowed me to sit down until it was my turn. Ordering was easy, but I was Ordering hot food and I had to wait for it. Although I was there for a little over an hour, I will be back. The food was hot and very tasty. Customer service was excellent, just need a bigger place because the line c was out the door.Parking: Tricky and have to get there early to be able to get street parking.
