Super cozy spot nestled in the belt, it's a fun atmosphere and area to visit. A must-visit if you're in Detroit.

Very small space during the winter season, but they make a great mocktail!

A friend introduced me to this hidden gem in downtown in the middle of February, looking forward to visiting in the summer when the weather is a bit

Funky little bar in an alley surrounded by art. This place has such a vibe that is truly what makes Detroit so special. They’ve got lots of drink options with a decent mezcal selection too!

We love this place in the summer when the patio area is open. Drinks are always hit or miss, but this time we came and they had the sippin Santa pop up menu which we've had elsewhere and the drinks were fantastic! Bartender told us a lot about the pop up and made great drinks. My husband ordered a whiskey ginger and he used a fresh ginger syrup which took the drink up a notch. Always will be back.

This used to be a must stop, but the service was aggressively rough this last time. It was even the slowest I have ever seen it. Maybe it's just the weekday squad that hates everyone and what they do.

Disappointed. Previous years we got in no problem for the Christmas pop up. Now they won't accommodate groups larger than 4 without paying for the experience, which is $40 to $80 per person. We said we could even split up and we just wanted 1 drink, and they still said no. I get they are doing their job, but we were bummed.

Sippin' with Santa was the perfect thing to do for happy hour the week before Christmas. They have the best drinks in the cutest mugs - tiki style. It was packed but service was good. I wish they served hot food during the week, but the charcuterie was tasty. Great location.

OMG!!! This place!!! We did a weekend trip to Detroit and stopped at the their Sippin’ Santa pop up and it did not disappoint! We got there at a perfect time to sit at the bar before it got super busy and boy were we lucky! Our bartender (I’m sorry I did t get his name but he shared he was from Chargin Falls, OH) was INCREDIBLE. So attentive, great conversation, gave us waters without asking, and made the most delicious and festive holiday drinks! When I was sad my sippin Santa didn’t have a surf board because they were out at the time, he made sure to put one in my next cocktail. Their entire menu is amazing and they really cared about giving us a fun Christmas experience. That had to be the best time I ever had out. I was on the fence about buying a sippin Santa glass. My husband talked me out of it but I kind of wish I did. The ambiance and drinkware was so fun! I wish we lived closer so I could go back. 1000000/10 recommended going to Sippin Santa for the best Christmas pop bar experience you’ll ever have. Thank you so much to everyone at The Skip for such a fun time!

The drinks were way too strong. 2 of us ended up not drinking ours at all. It was super loud in there too. The decor and everything was great. They did a beautiful job on that. The space heaters while we waited in line was appreciated too.

I always stop by the skip. Love the atmosphere and drinks are fantastic. Let me start by saying your waiter and drinks were amazing. Love Christmas time at The Skip. The reason for the 4 stars I walked to door with my friend since bathroom is across the alley. The host backed up and stepped on me. My reaction was putting my hand out so he didn't completely fall into me. Instead of apologizing, he yelled, don't touch me. This threw my friend and I we just walked out the door and didn't say anything to him. I wasn't going to even write this, but others thought I should let you know. I'll be back because I love your place, not going to let him ruin my great experiences there.

Unfortunately our server Cody did not make this experience special for us. It was really dark with little to no lighting in the bar when we found hair in our food. We politely called the server over and flashed our phone flash light so he could see it and his response was "we are good we don't need a flashlight for this" and after that comment was made he sent 2 different servers over to take care of us instead of him. Very unfortunate because we loved the idea and drinks of this place.

Small fun bar located in the belt of Detroit. If you really enjoy art it's a good area to walk through and then you can grab a drink at the skip. Overall a great fun local Detroit stop that not a lot of people know about. Service was quick and friendly and we will definitely be back.
