Unfortunately the Traffic Jam is closed due to a fire. Hopefully this is not end of Traffic Jam in Detroit.Great food and great drinks and still the old atmosphere in that was always there. Just a great place.

Food was okay but the staff acted arrogant, pompous, and generally as though they couldn't care less that we were there. Just a friendly reminder, and we all know, there are too many other great restaurants nearby that really know how to treat their customers.

We tried to go there today for Lunch. The place was closed, boarded up & locked. What's up with that? Can't they post on Yelp if they are no longer in business??? Help other potential customers avoid our unfortunate experience. Thanks.

This place has great beer and cheese. They have a 51st anniversary menu going atm. This us one of my favorite places to go for a bite. Vegetarian options are great. The Ethiopian platter is decently authentic said my friend from Ethiopia. :)

I held my daughter's rehearsal dinner here and we had a wonderful time and meal. The menu had great variety. One of the best features of the room was the double doors that we opened up. The servers worked very hard to make everyone satisfied. We have been here for a few dinners and enjoyed it each time.

Traffic Jam & Snug was destroyed by a fire in the early morning of May 27, 2022. I submitted the change to Yelp, but they've refused to label the restaurant as Temporarily Closed. (The fire just happened, so the owners have given no indication as to whether they will rebuild and reopen or not. That information will likely not come until mid-2023, and they can always decide one way and then change their mind and do the other. We'll just have to wait and see.) Local news coverage:

Sorry to tell people not near Detroit, but TJ&S burned down this morning. The brewery next door survived.

One star for the drinks because everything else wasn't even reviewable. A group of friends and I went for one of our friend's birthday. Our reservation was literally at the point of close which I'm still confused why they even let us make the reservation that late if the food wasn't going to be up to par. We ordered our drinks and a few apps. The egg rolls were half warm, half cold and there were a few other complaints as well. They were out of some of the items on the menu for dinner, so I ended up having to go with another choice. I can't even tell you what I had because it wasn't memorable at all. My mom used to rave about this place and now I don't see the hype at all. Don't even get me started on check out. Everyone in our group paid for their meals and as we were about to leave they were still hitting us with an unpaid bill like what? I mean it's like half the restaurant was dark as they were closed, and we're standing there trying to leave, highly unsatisfied because the waitress couldn't keep everybody's tabs in order. Never again will I eat here, it was not a good experience at all.

I used to frequent TJ & Snug when I was a student at Wayne State and remember loving it! After not having been there for 30 years, I brought my not-from-Michigan husband there on a Saturday afternoon for a lunch date in March. "It's a Detroit institution" I said, "you'll love it!" Ehh, not so much. It was sorely understaffed (I get it, most places are understaffed these days) but that's not a big deal for us. We're friendly, patient people with experience in the service industry. However, our server, sensing our friendliness, felt at ease to complain about nearly every other table in the joint (not many, but more than a couple). This customer was a "Karen" (cringe), that table is cheap & only wanted water to drink. Anyways. Our orders took a while and were wrong and cold when we got them. Ok, we can live with that. The food was lackluster and the menu appears to have had only minor tweaks since 1988. The place was filthy. It just seems like TJ & S stopped caring about the food, relying on their reputation from years gone by. Sigh.
