Went to union assembly before Jesse McCartney the other day. The first time we attempted to go here they served only brunch until 2pm which I thought was dumb. This time I got a burger but $20+ for a 4oz patty is a little steep. Guess that's because of the location. They are very slow. The girls next to us had two salads and were there with drinks and everything when we walked in got their food after us. Also the wait staff was not very attentive. Honestly should try something else unless you wanna just sit in a cool place before a game or show.

Went for dinner before a show at the Fillmore. The location is very convenient. We were sat at the awkward seating in the front against the window. Which might be ok for drinks but for dinner was a little uncomfortable with no back support. They should really reevaluate the seating. The server was attentive but not friendly and a little short. I asked her advice on an entree and she immediately ask if chips were ok so I said well sure and just continued ordering. We had the Bahn Mahi and unlike some of the other posts the mahi was not dry and it was flavorful. I liked the curry mayo and pickles vegetables but it was missing cilantro. It was a bit on the messy side with the sunny side up egg but not bad. We also had the fried chicken sliders the bread seemed old and heated up a second time and almost chewy.

Union Assembly Restaurant offers a convenient location for people attending events at Fox Theater or Comerica Park. I was excited to try out this place as I've had it on my list since it opened. I had the Bahn Mi Sandwich. I was very disappointed in it. The fish was overcooked and underseasoned. They tried to mask this screw up with an overload of curry sauce but it did not work. Also, we were seated in the "booth" area near the front. Not sure if the whole restaurant is like this, but their "booths" are simply a 2ft Diameter table where you're both sat on the same side of a round table... not exactly a good seating situation. There was next to no room for anything on the table and you were sitting in a very awkward position trying to face the table itself. Worst seating arrangement I've ever seen at a restaurant. Not that it matters in the quality of the food, but the water glass size was also very small. I drank the whole cup in like 2 sips. I prefer larger glasses to fit larger volumes of water to last longer and actually quench my thirst. My wife got the chicken parmesan. She claimed it was also overcooked and very thin leading to an unsubstantial amount of food. The only saving grace of this restaurant was the French fries. I enjoyed them the most. Overall would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

The pizza in this place is beyond delicious!! The crust remind you of when Pizza Hut first started selling pizza. The appetizer triple pepper wings are delicious and the fried chicken sliders are scrumptious. Drinks were good and Eminem’s spaghetti is on the other side of Union assembly and it sits right in front of Comerica Park atmosphere is beautiful. All they need to do is add karaoke we had a great time. Service was awesome. The Coney pizza is a must try. It’s like having a open face Coney dog really really delicious. Please don’t knock it till you tried it.Parking: We parked around the corner from Union assembly and walked to you in assembly and it wasn’t really busy downtown this particular Saturday night but I’m quite sure if it’s busy parking could be difficult
We stopped by for a couple of drinks and a quick bite. We shared an Assembly Bread and it was tasty. I had an Austin Brothers Brown Ale and it was excellent. Service was good and the location excellent.

The food was good, service was great, and the vibe of the restaurant was very cool. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The salmon dip was creamy and tasted good. The chips are homemade and delicious. The pizza crust was perfect, nice and crunch yet soft still. I'd order the white pizza again, but with extra lemon vinaigrette on it. The fried chicken sliders were nice and crispy and the slaw on top was super yummy. The Reuben was a solid sandwich. The caesar salad was a great add on. The only complaint I heard at our table-- the grilled chicken sandwich wasn't great. Otherwise, everything got glowing reviews!

Used to be one of my wife's favorite places to the point the group would tease her that we are going to the Union again as we go before and after the event of the moment. Things seemed to be slowly changing for the worse the last couple times and this last visit was a bummer. Not busy but limited menu due to a Bluey concert. We both had the rueben. Typically you do a limited menu because you are expecting to be busy and want to do what you do well. The corned beef was overdone and tough like it was made two days ago and reheated.
The atmosphere is incredible! The service was quick for how busy they were! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Our food was so slow coming to the table! We had to ask 3 times and at one point someone we had never seen came and asked us, did you order ...? Yes, we replied thinking it was on the way. Nope. The Mac n cheese was great. The pot pie was ok but needed something. Location is great for fox theater or filmore. Get reservations,

Have been to the Union Woodshop in Clarkston so thought I would try the Union Assembly. Different vibe as the Assembly is more open and modern. Prefer the woodshop feel but the Assembly wasn’t bad. Food was ok, service was very good. Not sure if I would return as the atmosphere is sorta meh.
