Yum Village came to my company today and the food was outstanding! The jerk chicken was so tender and juicy and flavorful. The pineapple salsa was delicious and had large hunks of fruit in it. The honey mustard sauce is a must. The pita bread was homemade and very tasty. We all agreed we will be going down to Detroit to eat at their actual restaurant.

The best plantains I’ve ever had ☺️

The Suya fried chicken was delicious! My friend got the jerk chicken and i think it needed more seasoning. Please add a little more salt. Would be great if tables can be cleaned up and people do not need to enter their card info manually. Overall I’ll be back!

Food was good but it took over 50 minutes to get my online order. Their online ordering system is frustrating to use and the prices were on the high

Raw food, yum village has went down hill since they’ve opened up their new location

No, we didn't enjoy our experience here. We felt the food was overpriced and two of our three entrees tasted burnt. Not like the meat was burnt, but that the spices were. It created this incredibly bitter flavor that only got worse the more you ate. There was also a bunch of stuff stored in the dining room like chairs and audio equipment, plus the Costco string lights... just gave it a cheap feel that was barely saved by the African decor.

The healthiest meal I've had out in months. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only complaint I could come up with is a lack of old-style, physical menus. I find them easier to browse than the tablet-based version. The ordering system is on said tablet, broken down into various categories but not particularly logical or easily discernable. So, I started at the first and dug through all until I found what I wanted. Then it was simple & straightforward. Even a spot to add notes about spice level or leaving out certain things. Prices are shown, usually a range, that covers the different size portions.A note: all electronic payments, no cash. And everything is bagged up to go even if you are eating in. Odd, but at least the bag is paper & thus recyclable. The instrumental music was a nice accompaniment to the meal but one of the speakers seemed to be blown, it had trouble with the low notes.I ordered the curry chicken, 12 oz portion, which was $16 + tax. Flavorful, tender, lots of colorful and tasty vegetables. I wish I had requested spicier but I'll know next time. And I would've loved some rice or bread to soak up all that delicious liquid so I didn't have to finish it like a bowl if soup without a spoon. ?I honestly would love to eat here nearly every week were it closer and bit less expensive. That being said, I suspect I've found my first "go to" restaurant in downtown Detroit.Vegetarian options: Plus, build-your-own choices.Parking: There is a free lot behind but no indication if it is for use here. Plenty of sign warning about getting towed if you are unauthorized, though.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room inside but the side door is a bit tough to open.

I was place on hold fot ten minutes. I had driven there before they took my order. Than they wanted me to per pay for my orderI think that was unprofessional. Maybe because there in the HOOD. When I did get there they weren't even busy. Third bad experience.

I had the pleasure of going to Yum Village and meeting Carasai. I had such a nice experience. West African food is new to me, and he explained how to build a bowl and suggested the best sauces and combinations. It was so good!! I will definitely be back. At my place of work, we have the opportunity to use catering for meetings, and we have used Yum Village with lots of happy colleagues!
