On March 24th I had breakfast at Hambos: poached eggs, bacon and hotcakes. Where do I start. I hate posting reviews like this because the staff and food there is extremely great. However, today was not so great. Shortly after eating there, about 2 hrs later when I went to Great Lakes crossing in Auburn Hills, my headed started hurting so bad and I found it unusual. When I got in the mall, I had terrible diarrhea. I went to the gas station and bought a Tylenol and it managed the headache. While heading home back to Hazel Park, I began feeling queasy and had to pull over where I vomited all over the sidewalk. The diarrhea persisted for about 45 minutes. All in all my symptoms dissipated 2 hrs after my initial headache. I understand that no restaurant is perfect. However, I playfully request that management ensure that all food is being properly stored, counters are cleaned, staff thoroughly wash hands for 30 seconds. and use gloves… I have been working in hospitality since age 15 and I’m in my mid 30s now. I know that foodborne illnesses often occur due to improperly stored food or improperly preparing food as well as a lack of general cleanliness and sanitation. All restaurants are required to follow FIFO regulations. “FIRST IN FIRST OUT”… you cannot serve food past expiration dates. I have personally worked at restaurants that were focused on preservation. As long as their was no visible spoilage, the staff still used the food. That is dangerous. I just request you guys do better. My opinion of you have no changed. You guys are still great, you just made a tiny boo boo

Staff was friendly, and the waitress was nice and the food was amazing. No long wait time. My teenage daughter was unhappy with the choice that she made and the waitress seen the disappointment on her face. It wasn't big enough or didnt look fulfilling, so the waitress asked her if she would like something else and of course she did ( smh teenagers) she came right out and she was happy that was very kind of her of you ask me. No charge for the other dish which made my wallet happy too. Overall great place to eat and kid friendly.Kid-friendliness: They are very accommodating when it comes to the children little juice boxes cups with lids and when available crayons and coloring sheets. Understanding when it comes to the little ones being picky when dining out.

I love Hambo, the food is always great portions, comes out quick and tastes great! The service is top notch, they are always very attentive and take care of you so well! All in all, a great place in Ferndale to spend your money!
