The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful! The lavender milk tea was delicious. ? They also actively support small businesses, which is always a plus in my book!

I had such a wonderful experience at Detroit Bubble Tea!!! The tea was amazing, the staff is so kind and helpful, it's fanily friendly, AND the owner, Arun, has such a welcoming and kind personality. I would definitely recommend it and come back.

Bubble tea is okay; but the place is just filthy. The floors are stickier than a smut movie theatre.

Haven't been here since the summer. Not sure what happened. Credit card machine half working, out of many offerings including whip cream (really???), place needs a good cleaning ,lastly the drinks were not good and did not taste like what was ordered. Very

We used to love going here but recently it seems like the quality has gone down severely...floors were dirty and sticky, something smelled like it was spoiling, my order was made wrong despite me and a friend being the only ones in the store (and ordered the exact same thing), and the workers just seemed out of it (which I don't blame them for, working customer service is rough, but I wonder how management treats them). With how unkempt and dirty the place looked and felt, I don't know if I'll want to go back.

Got food poisoning here yesterday. It wasn’t very clean and they were out of a lot so I’m assuming they gave expired tea/pearls.Both my spouse and I are actively throwing up.I’m writing this as I sit here on the toilet with a bucket in front of me.Y’all need to start using food stickers or something because that’s pretty bad.

I remember coming to Detroit Bubble Tea for the very first time right right after moving from California to Michigan. I believe at that point, there were only three total boba establishments in Metro Detroit, with Detroit Bubble Tea as the first ever opened in the area. I was so confused during that first visit as it was the first time I had encountered an American-style boba shop; the type where you choose a base then a flavor, have no displayed options to adjust sugar levels, and where drinks are mainly made with powders and syrups. I had never seen that before and had pretty low expectations for the drink, which unfortunately was exactly on the mark. I decided to visit again since I was in Ferndale, now years later, just to see if anything changed about the drinks. Original Milk Tea, Half Sweet w/ Boba ($5.99) - Starting with drink construction - they ladle in a couple of scoops of boba in the cup, followed by adding a bit of honey sweetener/syrup, then a premixed milk powder/black tea, and finally ice. The drink is not filled to the top; instead, there's about a 1cm gap to the heat sealed lid. The syrup does add a hint of honey to the drink and we found half sweet to be pretty much perfect. The drink itself is really lacking in tea flavor. It just tasted basically like sweetened milk powder with honey flavor. The boba here seems to be soaked in honey. It has a bit of stickiness on the exterior and the interior is pretty much the same texture throughout. While quite hard, the boba has a chew that bounces back as you bite down, unlike a lot of other places that have hard boba where your teeth just cut through with a bit of grittiness. Note: All drinks come with one topping, but as some reviews say (and I can corroborate), they try to charge you $1 for the topping. If you tell them that it should be included in the cost, they will remove the charge. I don't know if this is something to do with training or they intentionally try to overcharge. Back when Detroit Bubble Tea was the only game in town, I can see why people would visit. Nowadays there are better places, but I guess the store still has some charm. I personally wouldn't visit again, but I did see a steady stream of customers on a Saturday afternoon I guess this shop has some fans at least.

A great place for Boba tea ! Had the Taro bubble tea and it was very creamy and tasty. It would have been nice if they had adjustable sugar level.

This used to be my favorite bubble tea place but sadly it’s gone downhill. It’s closed when it’s supposed to be open, the floor is sticky, they run out of everything, and now they’re charging $1 extra for tapioca and popping pearls, but the menu says they’re included with the price of the drink.

Absolute favorite bubble tea place. Amazing drinks & snacks. They also have the friendliest staff! We drive across the state just to come here. I would give them 10 stars if I could! We ordered macaroons and bubble tea in catering for our wedding and it was a huge hit! I will always come back!

Used to love this place. But for some odd reason a BUBBLE tea place is now charging $1.00 for basic tapioca pearls in their drinks. Their sign says its free and then .50 cents for extra. Totally understandable to charge more for extra pearls but to charge for them to begin with when your entire shop is based off this style of drink is ridiculous. Going in for a 4.95 drink and it coming to 6.20 when you added nothing extra or special, in is insane. Change your boards if your prices don't reflect what your boards say. They also charged extra for getting less ice. Weird. Some people literally cringe at the sound/feeling of ice. But at least this was listed on their sign.

If you haven't been to this place in a few months and fancy some boba, don't bother coming back.Remember all those cookies and snacks you liked? They don't have them anymore.Remember the specials board you could order from? They "can't make anything up there."Remember your favorite flavor? Nope.Think you might get a milk tea? Guess again.I don't know what happened in the last 6-8 months, but it was pretty obviously for the worse. I hate to say it, but I won't be coming back.Edit: one thing I forgot, the drink I did end up with wasn't mixed at all.

I have a big event coming up, I tried calling a couple times and emailing. No responses, the voicemail box said it was full and not taking any voicemails. I’m sure this is a great place but the service is not good so far!
