Did the pull up to big John's for lunch on my way back home to Ann arbor. Got the original steak and cheese and Italian sub. When i took a bite of the steak and cheese, I felt like I was home again. I grew up in Saginaw/flint area and It's one of the places I miss the most. I started eating it so fast I almost forgot to take a picture! The Italian sub was just ok. Could used a little more meat to even out the bread ratio. This is a place I always repeat.

A flint classic, you can not come to town and not eat here! We grew up on big John's and it's always been a delicious get away of sorts. Prices are up a bit but that's a given like every where else. You can find the chain of big John throughout flint but my favorite is the Clio road store. I have been going to there since a kid, and for a kid a sandwich such as this is a real treat! The staff is friendly the store always clean and the food is great. You have to try the chicken as well as the steak both in a sixteen inches. Also the salads are great and tasted fresh. Don't sleep on the steak salad as well. It's kinda cool to walk in see and smell the food being cooked right in front of you in a clean kitchen! That's another experience upon itself! There's plenty of sub and Chese steak shops through out Michigan but big John's is honestly the best, with the food made in front of you, fast service and their own signature steak sauce! You have to get a sixteen inch because it's so good especially with peppers and the bread tosted! Yummy! I'd eat there every day if I wasn't watching my weight! Steak and onions with toasted bread with melted cheese is probably my favorite then I'd purchase a pop and chip combo to go with it and to enhance the overall experience! You can never go wrong at big John's a flint classic for decades and one of many of may favorite places to eat. Flint has a rich culture of tasty delicious and flavor full places to dine.

Love their salads but I specifically asked for no jalapeños and they were in my antipasto salad my granddaughter steak salad and the chili. They chili was very good but I didn't know why it was so spicy until I saw the jalapeños. I just pulled 4 out of my salad. Not happy
