The food was just okay, I have had way better at other places, but it wasn't horrible either. Service was good, not spectacular. The atmosphere was very dark, very dark! I don't think we will be going back again

House of HSU is my favorite spot. Their dishes are to die for. The plates are worth the money.

Online prices are not what they charge when you pick up your order. They are much higher and no apologies.

Our first time here in a long time. Ordered a variety of takeout, was ready right on time, hot and quite nice sized portions. This may well turn into our go-to spot for Chinese food.

I really cannot explain the horrible time that I spent there at this so-called restaurant one waitress who was so much in a hurry just to get her tips from all the tables. Great you ran a marathon, but at the same time you sucked, the food was terrible. we ordered beef and broccoli, sesame, chicken, vegetable lo mein We wanted string bean chicken, but they had no string beans. There was no taste to this food. The noodles were like thin, spaghetti noodles in which I had the night before that spaghetti was good. I can’t even put a star on this Review this is not a good place to have dinner a total waste of money

My wife and I went for dinner and when we ordered I asked if the sizzling rice soup had shellfish in it as I am allergic, the waiter said no so we ordered that and some other items. When the soup arrived I tasted it and almost immediately had a reaction, I scooped around and there was shrimp in it. I told the waiter and he argued “no shellfish, it’s shrimp”. The other employee working likewise did not see the issue as I tried to explain they kept saying “oh you don’t like it?”. I understood that English is not always people’s first language and I respect that, but if you are serving food with possible allergens and someone asks about them (since allergens aren’t listed in their menu either), you should at least be able to give accurate information. Aside from that the rest of the food was bland, but they wouldn’t even take the soup off my bill even though I took the proper steps.Dietary restrictions: They do not understand dietary restrictions and will give poor information.

Where my House of Hsu fans at! ? What are we doing wrong??????Wife and I went to House of Hsu about 4+ years ago. Had the reputation of best in the area and she used to love eating there. We went and it was BLAH. Couple months ago people were talking this place up like crazy to a new in town looking for Chinese recommendations. Seemed that I was the only one who didn't care for it. My mom and dad have been there 2x and liked it. So we decided to try it again. Wife got her usual Gen Tso chicken and I went with shrimp fried rice and some egg drop soup. Her meal, just like ours last time is large bland tasting chicken nuggets with some dipping sauce. Egg drop soup tastes like watered down chicken broth. Kind of hard to mess up fried rice (but have had better in the mall) with tiny shrimp added. $45 down the drain. Wife could only stand about 3 nugs, I only ate a few spoons of soup. I'll be able to eat the rice, so $45 for a pint of shrimp fried rice. DONE DONE DONE, not doing that again. Mean lady in Grand Ledge it is. Good Flavor a far distant 2nd. Spoiled with Campus Kitchen in kzoo.

They were under staffed. Surprised for Christmas day. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our food. No refills on drinks. Kinda disappointing.

1st time back in 20 years. The inside is the same but the recipes have changed. Kind of bland tasting overall, but, it's very hard to find great Chinese food around mid-Michigan.
