Submitted an order request for my sons birthday party a month prior to his party date. Was ghosted by the staff at the establishment in Grand Rapids. Called today to ask if there was any progress update and was informed that it is wedding season and that they "did not want to make the cake" for a birthday party. The order request was for 25 cookies and 25 cupcakes as well and was told they could not complete any part of the order and that if I'd like I could come pick up a vanilla cake or carrot cake but it's first come first serve. What a joke. I rarely leave reviews but it's known around kzoo as well that the owners of this bakery are selfish in the manor of wanting to "pick and choose" what orders they want to make and disregard others without letting them know a simple "no, we can't make it right now". If you decide to order from this bakery just make sure you have a solid backup option.

I got these as a Valentines treat from my bf delivered to my place. While these looked adorable, flavour was disappointing. The peanut butter frosting was decent and the banana and chocolate cake was alright but all the other flavours came off as artificial. The frosting was way too sweet and the crumb was dry and got bitter by the second day.

We were very happy with the vegan cake that Cakabakery made for our wedding. It was delicious! Cakabakery was nice during the planning process and offered us samples of multiple vegan flavors. They delivered the cake to our venue as well. The only small complaint is that the box they brought our bride/groom cutting cake in was too small to close, so it got crushed when we brought the rest back home. It is still delicious and we will enjoy the rest of it.

I LOVE this place! My coworker and I will stalk their Instagram to see what delicious treats they have that day before we stop in. Their dessert varies and will change everyday so I recommend following their instagram @thecakabakery to stay updated on what they have in shop. They also vegan treats! There isn't a parking lot so you will have to park on the street but totally worth it since they're usually not busy. The baker and staff are super nice and welcoming!

Cakabakery created a phenomenal wedding cake for our special day. Not only was it visually stunning, but it matched our wedding theme flawlessly. The taste was equally divine. Each layer was moist and the flavors were rich.The team (and especially Jason!) at Cakabakery was an absolute pleasure to work with. They were attentive to our preferences, offered great suggestions, and ensured every detail was executed to perfection - including making sure our inspiration photo would map appropriately to our specific cake.Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious the cake was (we opted for a classic vanilla and it was amazing). I can't wait until our 1 year post-wedding anniversary so that I can eat it again (I snuck some without my husband knowing before putting in the freezer, hah!!)
Look at how absolutely beautiful the baked goods at Cakabakery are! I finally stopped by during ShopHop to pick up a sweet. I wish I could've tried everything, especially their house-made poptarts. It was so tough to choose just one but I had to go with the whoopie pie. It just looked too good to pass up. The chocolate "cookies" had an absolutely incredible texture. It was the most delicate crumb on a baked good that I've tried (just look at the close up). Rich cocoa flavor with a candied peppermint aftertaste. Reminded me of an Andes Mint. Their selection is rotating daily so make sure to checkout their socials to see the daily menu. If you can think of a baked good, they probably sell it, including custom orders! Also shoutout to the owner. Put him down on the list of amazing people who love their work. He was incredibly kind and helpful while I was totally stressing about what to buy.

We took a little risk hiring The Cakabakery to cater all our wedding desserts without having ever tasted their baked goods (since we’re from out of town), and WOW…our risk definitely paid off!! We ordered way more than what was necessary, but people were leaving our wedding with to-go boxes FULL of desserts because they just couldn’t get enough of ‘em! The only thing I’d note is that their dessert bars are huge, and could easily be cut in half and still be plenty for one person to eat. Overall, so yummy and so easy to work with!
