my group of 4 came in on Sunday 4/21/24 around 10am and found a table right across from the bar/ register. it wasn't very busy yet we still waited 45 minutes before anyone approached us to even greet us despite all the women working the front making eye contact. after such a long wait and basically being ignored by staff we decided to leave. right as we were getting out things around to walk out one server came and "apologized" and stated there was a miscommunication. there was no miscommunication . they seen us walk in, take a seat, and wait practically an hour with nothing being said to us. we will no longer consider this restaurant as a dining option. we ordered Starbucks online and had our food prepared by the time we left Leo's and arrived. it was a block away. Leo's= the most pitiful customer service I've experienced in grand rapids.

Walked in with my wife and 2 kids. Greeted by a young, short haired girl with a nose ring I believe, and we took a booth by the window. Waited at least 10 minutes with her not even bringing water or anything. A large group of college kids walked in and was immediately greeted and brought water. Another large group of kids walk in, and again greeted right away. At that point, being there over 15 min without any help, we just left. That server needs training or more supervision.

A proper Detroit coney place? With a full bar?! Yes please. If only the cooks were familiar with how much coney sauce a real coney is supposed to have (they skimp so bad, but if you ask for double or triple, it'll be what you'd expect if you grew up on SE Michigan coneys).

I order my breakfast here all the time on my off day. I came in there this morning. My total was $20.01 I did not have a penny. The young lady would not give me my food because of that so I gave her $5 bill for the penny. I was very disappointed about that

Food was good, but not excellent. Many ways to improve the food, but the prices would go up. Good for the price. The service was outstanding; couldn't have been better for us. The atmosphere was normal, and new and updated. It could have been cleaner. This was not because of a staffing issue. They need to wipe things down with Dawn more often. The menu is huge, so plenty of options. Very kid friendly. I would go back, but I would not be excited. Again, GOOD FOR THE PRICE (especially for Downtown Grand Rapids)..Parking: If you can find a spot on the street. Paid parking in a ramp.Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu.

It was a late Thursday morning stop for my wife and I. There were maybe five tables occupied and 2-3 waitstaff at the counter. We sat for 10 minutes In a nearly empty coney island without any form of greeting, no silverware, no drinks, no nothing. Two gentlemen came in and sat at the counter, they were greeted, given silverware, and asked drink orders. That's when we got up and left. For us, I'd never go back or recommend even for a coney.

Service was great!! but food is really lacking. We shared a Reuben and Chili cheese fries - meat on sandwich was so over cooked it became tough and leathery, the 'swiss cheese' was more of a processed white american cheese and the sandwich arrived with out thousand island dressing. It was a very sad Reuben?. Chili cheese Fries might of been even worse - if that's possible . Chili and cheese left much to be desired, pretty sure they were from a pouch of some sort. Fries were mushy, even the ones without chili or cheese on them and they had absolutely no seasoning. I really hate to be so negative but the food was just bad.

We are a Greek family and love the Greek dishes that Leo's Coney Island offers. We have dined there frequently, often bring friends. The food is always good and the service fantastic. That being said; however, we have decided not to dine there any longer during the cold months, as the owner chooses to keep the dining room quite frigid. We heat our home at 68 degrees and are comfortable at that temp. We have tried mutliptle visits to Leo's Coney Island this winter...and each time the dining room has always been uncomfortablly chilly. When we pay to go out to eat, dining with our winter coats on and still being cold is not a relaxing or enjoyable dining experience. We gave it another try last night visiting around 5:30pm (hoping the furnace was turned up). The dining area was extremely C-O-L-D! This could be why there were not many customers there? We asked the waitress if the heat could be turned up, and she replied, "No, the only person allowed to adjust the temperature is the owner, and he is not here". NOTE to Owner: Saving money by turning down the heat in the cold of winter does not provide a pleasant dining experience for your customers and certainly cannot be good for your business! So...we'll see you in the summer?.... ~ Chuck and Denise Antonopulos

I went here for lunch after a meeting with 5 other people. When we got there, there was one other table. We ordered and waiting 45 minutes before the server came to tell us they ran out of an ingredient for one of my coworkers meals, so she ordered something else. Another 25 minutes and the food finally came out. I wouldn't go there again for the service and the food was mid, but the atmosphere was nice and centrally located. The prices seemed reasonable and the portions were big.
