The owner was there and came out and greeted us. I had the spicy pork wet burrito, excellent! My friend had the shredded beef wet burrito, delicious!

Unbelievably beautiful and delicious food. Service is amazing and friendly. I want to try more of the menu but I'm addicted to the barbacoa tacos. My friends all say the other food is good too but after my required minimum of two barbacoa tacos I insist on I'm usually too full to try anything else. Maybe one day. PS- try the barbacoa tacos.

Simply the best Mexican food around the greater Grand Rapids area. The food is awesome. The food is full of flavor and well-balanced. Portions are great for the prices. The atmosphere is simple with tasteful homespun decor. The people that run Maggie's Kitchen are nice and friendly. It's our favorite place for Mexican food, plus they have a breakfast menu.

Don't sleep on Maggie's Kitchen for breakfast! Nate and I stopped in recently on a weekend morning and I got huevos rancheros. We had some questions about the breakfast burrito and the person taking our order was super helpful and gave some recommendations for filling - chorizo, egg, and potato plus beans and cheese. We asked how big they were and the response was "a good size" so I figured it would be huge. I was right, it's a big hefty burrito! We definitely could've split that. Pay at the counter and they brought the food out to us. The huevos rancheros was delicious but the eggs could've used a bit more salt due to the sweetness of the peppers and onions. I added some of the housemade hot salsa which was really tasty and not too spicy. I loved the sauciness of the dish and the rice and beans were particularly good when I find that these are usually more of a filler at some spots. The shredded beef was so tasty and I wanted more of that. The burrito was again, huge and stuffed full. I had a few bites and it was really tasty! Next time I'd try their menudo which they only have on weekends. Or the breakfast tacos. But that burrito will be hard to beat. The atmosphere is nice with plenty of seating and nice decor. They also have spice blends and hot sauces for sale and lots of lunch/dinner menu options too.

Been coming here for a good while, and I can say that I'm definitely in love with the food. I usually get take-out, so the main thing i would always recommend would be the torta of asada. Especially with the mild sauce. It's more taste rather than kick. As for the service? The people always been nice and very helpful.

We love this place. The best Menudo and Barbacoa in Michigan. Maggie's is a family run joint that has been serving Grand Rapids for over 40 years. From the weekday business crowd at lunch, to the weekend filled with families out for breakfast or lunches. You know the place is good when you see Mexican grandpas eating here. Service is cafeteria style, with a very busy kitchen. This is a real family restaurant. Three generations work here. Serving the very best Mexican food in Grand Rapids.Fantastic tortillas too, fresh made from Milagros.

A real Mexican food restaurant with delicious authentic food. The variety of people eating here was very diverse, and the atmosphere is very casual. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly, as there was a school class of elementary grade students there.
