Mac was awesome and very personable. Food was good but i don’t think it was equal to the cost. Would definitely come back for the laid back atmosphere and would try other foods.

Overall, I really enjoyed my few stops at the Friesian, but the service has definitely been questionable. The atmosphere is good, and the food is amazing. I go back for the food, in spite of the service and poor parking.Vegetarian options: There are some vegan options on the menu, and they are all fantastic!Parking: There is a shared parking lot that is a couple minute walk from. The Friesian. It's more an inconvenience than a deal breaker.

Great food. Good drinks. Good service. Rotating menu to mix things up once in a while. What's not to like?

I highly recommend this restaurant. We always love the food at the Fresian! There are great GF options for me! (I could actually have an appetizer and dessert here.) Our server was awesome also! Can't wait to go back!

All around great vibe. Best vegan food we've had in GR, and Seven Monks is next door for a fun date night.

Easily one of my new favorite restaurants in Grand Rapids. The Banh Mi and truffle fries were outstanding. Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, top-notch service...you can't ask for more! 10/10 will go again ?

Ambiance, service & food were all terrific. My girlfriend is gluten free and they had so many gluten free options. This place is definitely worth trying!
The Friesian Gastro Pub was a cool restaurant that had great-tasting food and friendly service. It was a little on the pricy side for just two people, but it didn't lack for quality or taste. Our server was very friendly and personable, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Grand Rapids.

I would recommend the Friesen Gastro Pub. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. The server was knowledgeable about the cocktail menu as well as all entrees. The chicken pesto risotto and carrot cake were exceptional. Prefer a hard copy menu rather than viewing from a smartphone, but their copier was not working to print a menu.

Half of our party ordered the salmon entrée with couscous, tomato, and goat cheese. It was excellent!!! Also really enjoyed the golden beat and arugula salad. Waitress was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. Great experience and will be returning for lunch someday, they have a Brie BLT I want to try!

We were drying the night in Grand Rapids and decided to give the Friesian a try.I made a reservation, though on the Tuesday evening we went, it was unnecessary. The decor was nice and the restaurant clean.Service was friendly and quick. We started with drinks and the Frites and Fondue, which I highly recommend. I mean how can you go wrong with a pile of truffle fries and melted cheese?I got the double smash burger with a side of vegan Mac and cheese, Maggie got the torchio bolognese. Now maybe it’s the west coast in me, but a good burger needs some aioli or sauce or something. This burger was by no means dry, but it lacked a little zip.Unfortunately, the vegan Mac and cheese lived up to its name and had virtually no flavor. We took it home to my sister in law who loves bland food and she enjoyed it.The torchio bolognese was on point. A large portion gave leftovers for tomorrow. All in all, I’d come back again. There’s a lot of menu to explore and the drinks were strong.

Erin was amazing! When we got there, we had a table in the back, picnic table. We had two people in late 70's with us who always get cold and need a back on chairs. Erinn worked to move us inside. She also assisted me in making needed modifications to a drink that was ordered. Erin had to Celiac guests at this table. She brought out extra items when we needed them. I can't say enough about her helpfulness, kindness and willingness to go out of her way to help us. Thanks Erin!
Good food and drinks!
