This place came highly recommended and we had to check it out. The manager Rachel immediately introduced herself to us and offered complimentary tastings of some of their amazing spirits including: rum, vodka, gin, bourbon, as well as coffee liqueur and ale brandy. We ordered a few cocktails (jungle bird, painkiller) and were highly impressed. The overall atmosphere is eccentric and chill paired with amazing drinks and service. Highly recommend checking this place out for a date night or a night out with friends.

Best cocktail bar in Grand Rapids. They know what they do. I hate reviewing places like this, because they are already better than me. Staff is next level. On several visits the bartender has made off-menu drinks based entirely on my feedback. Atmosphere, music, everything, probably better than anything I would dream up. Doesn't hurt Dr. Bird is easily a top five spirit under $30.
Bad service. Guy literally fished the orange peel out of the mixed drink with his bare hands to transfer to another drink. Was very rude when we tried to cash out saying he isn’t technically working. Then why are you behind the bar?

Sheesh…where do I begin? When you walk into this establishment you are immediately greeted with a rich atmosphere, seeping with the promise of a perfectly crafted cocktail. I have visited a few times and have yet to be disappointed. I’m a simple drinker, vodka gimlet is all I ask. The man behind the bar always delivers a beautifully chilled, full bodied gimlet. It is clear he has trained his staff to exceed expectations, as in his absence I was lucky enough to still be served a perfectly tailored cocktail. If you want consistency in your drinks, great pricing, and the feeling of dark academia to linger with you. This is your spot. 5/5. 10/10.

GR. stepping into this bar feels like your witchy little paradise. the vibes are immaculate and the drinks taste divine (i have yet to get a bad one). but i think what makes this place better than the rest is their service. tonight was a great example where the bartender was lovely but the bar was a little busy and one of the other bartenders was there even on his night OFF and helped out to help things run smoother. it just goes to show how much the employees care and love this place too.

In addition to tastings, great cocktails and knowledge bartenders. 3rd wave Craft cocktails all fresh ingredients. They've got all the bitters. It was nice and quiet when I went, with staff of 2. A little dark for my eyes but it's a cool place; no reason to rate it any less than 5.
Jake the bartender is definitely my kind of nerd. He explained and tour guided us through the choices very well. Good times!

Tried this place again for the first time since the pandemic. Amazing experience! Jake took care of me and my friend the entire time! They were so helpful and kind! I notice Jake was doing a LOT around the bar and when I found out they weren’t the manager, I was shocked! Get this person a management position and a pay raise!! Will be coming back for more!
