If you've never had italian beef sandwich, you're missing out matt and mo's Has the best I've ever had. So tender so flavorful. And don't forget you have to have it dipped to make it taste incredible. This is not a sit down restaurant. It's only carry out You cannot go wrong. I promise you enjoy every bite I can't wait to have another. It's been a long time since a restaurants made me say. I want another right away Everything on their menu seems to be homemade. Or very high quality. This is a must try.

Terrific, friendly service. I ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich with the peppers and cheese. The lady at the window recommended getting it dipped. It made for a messy sandwich, but it was delicious. Definitely the way to order it if you eat it at one of their picnic tables. Get at least a few napkins. If I were to order it to go, however, I would probably ask for the au jus on the side. That said, it's one of the best sandwiches I've had in metro Detroit.

Looking for a fun lunch adventure, we found an Eater Detroit article that recommended Matt and Mo's as a great sandwich spot. I lived in Chicago for 15 years and the hubs was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, so we were pumped to find a possible new hot dog and Italian beef spot. We ordered a Chicago dog and an Italian beef, and split the two. The Italian beef was out of this world and the Chicago hotdog was the best Chicago dog we have had outside of Chicago. Our ten year old son enjoyed his plain hot dog with ketchup. The only negative was that when we asked for a refill on our pop, the young woman that waited on us said she didn't think they did refills. It was a sunny but windy and chilly day so we ate in our car, but I'd love to come back on a nice day and eat at the picnic tables that they have. We will for sure be back!

Italian beef sandwich was a soggy unseasoned sloppy mess. This place is a dud.Ordered two of them. Ate half of the first and the other 1 and a half ended up in the backyard for the animals.

Okay, wow. This place is pretty damn good. I had an Italian Beef Dipped, and that thing was a monster; tasted amazing. I recommend this place if you are hankering for a greasy bite but you don't want the usual fast food.

I won't be hungry again until tomorrow!! Glad I didn't order a side! I got the combo sandwich. The sausage was really good and not greasy, the beef was good, the marinara was some of the best I've had, just the right blend of hot and sweet peppers, then the au jus going through the whole sandwich set everything off just right. Service was friendly and on time.

Since Hippo Dogs closed in Troy I've been grudgingly driving to the east side hell scape of Sterling Heights for Portillos... Their Italian Beefs are horrible... Now I have Matt & Mo's to get from. They're sandwiches are really good, mine could have used another second in the gravy to be as wet as I like them but the peppers and seasoning was on point!. Also they give you more meat than you'd get at Johnnie's so win, win! I give them 5 stars, but the the bun on a Chicago dog I got was stale. It's January and they probably don't sell a lot of them compared to the beef. Anyway... Good Stuff! I'll be back for more. I didn't see a polish on the menu, I miss that Polish Hippo and the Maxwell Polish is another Chicago treat I miss.

Advertise it like it's a Chicago Italian beef. Taste nothing like a Italian beef. Nothing, is authentic, very bad replica.
