While in town visiting family at Thanksgiving, we visited the Kerstmarkt at the Civic Center. It was pretty cold, and before walking up 8th Street, we wanted to warm up and grab a quick bite. That's when we stumbled on this place.It is just east of the market, so it's a prime location to pick up a breakfast pastry or drink before shopping downtown. It had just opened, so we were the only customers. The place is pristine and bright and huge with several tables on one side.My mom and I shared a pecan sticky bun thing, and it was warm and delicious. Don't be fooled by the plate in the photo - it's actually a sturdy, reusable plate made to look like a paper plate. They also provide forks and cups for water.There were so many items to choose from, I'll have to go back and try some more.

Overall, our experience with The Cakabakery was positive! They made our beautiful and delicious wedding cake. We decided to serve guests with sheet cakes instead of cutting from our own, and unfortunately, the second flavor we chose for these wasn't what we received day of. It was missing the raspberry filling, which we had listed on our printed menus. Needless to say, we and our guests were disappointed we didn't get what we paid for.

So so. I've found that their freshness and quantity is hit or miss. Their hours are a whole other topic. Just not a place you can count on, which is frustrating since, they're the only baked good shop downtown, if you're looking for a cupcake!

A nostalgic delight! Delicious ice almond cookies. I appreciate they know I'm driving a long distance to purchase, so they save some for me when I call in advance. Good vegan desserts and chocolate-inspired cookies. This Holland location has better options and better customer service than the GR location.
It is a hilarious name but the cookies are delicious. I wish I had a picture of it but I ate it before I wrote this review. It was that good!!!!!!
