When I'm in the areas of Almont or Imlay City I'll be back. They also have a special menu of Buffet items for to go. Delicious Szechuan, Cantonese, Hunan Food Cuisine. I have dined here three times with family on a Sunday this year of 2024, even though I only checked in on Yelp once. ( Too busy eating) My Niece and her family live in Almont which is close for them to dine here on a weekly basis. So after watching my great nephew play basketball in Almont or Imlay City down the road everyone was hungry at 3pm which was the perfect time and not too busy at New China Buffet. I enjoyed the Wonton and Egg Drop Soups, Crab Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, Five Season Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, Stir-Fry Vegetables, Lobster chunks, Popcorn Shrimp, Fried Rice were My favorites! :-) The Manager and other staff members are very efficient to check temperature on food trays at the buffet and keep the popular items full too when a tad low so they buzz around to fill in a tray with curtosey. The foods and tastes are overwhelming with a variety of seafood, meats, vegetables, pastas, noodles, rice, Lo Mein, Chow Mein, Chop Suey, Fired or White Rice, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Sweet & Sour Dishes, Egg Foo Young, Special Combination Plates, Sushi, Many Sides, plus Vegetable & Bean Curd. The Buffet has steamed Fish, Bbq Ribs that are tasty. There are many "Stuffed" buffet food items such as stuffed mussels, stuffed crabmeat, stuffed mushrooms that I can remember that I ate. Then a 3rd or 4th helping can be cold salads, puddings, Jello, and fluffy mousse creations. Lastly the Desserts are specially made so SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT. OMG Kiddos & Adults too lol can enjoy the soft-serve Ice-Cream Machine located in the back of the Buffet area plus You can add your own toppings to complete one's Sweet Tooth Explosion! BEWARE OF POP SCAM! I wanted to give this establishment a higher rating, but I don't like feeling manipulated or tricked. They sat my family down and the waitress immediately came to our table asking us how old are kids were and what we would like to drink. When we got the bill we were charged $10 for the 4 drinks and the waitress very much made it feel like these were included in the cost of the buffet. To me, they should make it more known that drinks are not included. The freaking pop machine is right next to the buffet so it feels like you should be serving yourself. It's not that $10 is going to break me, it's just this evening out cost us $85 for 2 adults and two kids. The food was OK. Variety was nice. Food was not too warm. Atmosphere was also ok. Kind of dark inside. Needs a waterfall or something. Would not return.

Food is always good, not sure how people complain about this place , came 1hr 30 mins to work in imlay and every time I come out here I stop for lunch. Price is great and staff is really good. You'll see some Karen's on here crying but I guarantee they cry about everything.

Absolutely amazing. This is the perfect place to go if you want amazing food. I had the best bacon wrapped crab of my life. I’d say I had about 8 plates of food there. Absolutely amazing.

5 stars! Amazing Chinese buffet! We drive 35 minutes to get here, happily because it is so delicious. Only $15 per person for dinner, which is great. (No soda).The staff were all very friendly, attentive, kind and professional. The staff that waited on us kept our table clean and waters filled. The staff filling food kept up with it, and the staff upon leaving made sure to tell us to get home safe. Overall, great staff.As far as the restaurant goes, it’s probably the cleanest buffet I have ever seen. No spilled food, no dirty floors or ceilings, tables were not worn down, everything felt clean and looked bright and inviting. And this was after 5pm on a weekend, too! During snow!The food: DELICIOUS! Everything was warm, clean, prepped appropriately. The food tasted amazing. The dumplings, all the types of chicken, noodles, rice, soup and desserts were amazing. The sugar donuts were so good and the ice cream is a great addition and it was cleaned and organized as well! Everything looked appetizing and fresh.We felt for the price, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant, it was more than worth the 30-ish minute drive. Every time I come here the service is excellent. The dishes are constantly changed out so you have fresh food, and often some of them are switched out so you have different options if you go up for more. They have a great variety of Chinese cuisine with some American cuisine as well. Your dirty plates are taken away from your table quickly and they get your drinks for you. I've never had to wait when I come here and I always leave full and satisfied. I highly recommend!
