I am currently visiting Michigan from Texas and I found this “soul food” restaurant. Being from Texas I know my soul food and comfort food. I don’t know if soul food is different up here or what but it was not good at all. I got the seafood Mac, greens and peach cobbler. The Mac and the greens were extremely salty. Like y’all. Extremely salty. Like the ocean. Listen, I’m one to season my food very heavily but that was definitely overkill. Then the crab wasn’t even real crab, it was that imitation crab stuff. I was hoping the saving Grace of this dish would be the peach cobbler, but I was wrong. It had the consistency of like a thick jello thing. My friend got the lamb chops and she said it had a weird aroma to them. I took a bit and immediately spit it out. Everything that we ordered we threw in the trash because unfortunately it was just inedible. I don’t know if that’s how y’all do things up here but I wouldn’t call that place soul food. Also there was no soap or toilet paper or paper towels in the restroom. Nasty. Do better y’all.

So this was my first time eating here yesterday honest opinion ordered two lamb chops dinners with mac n cheese for both and a side of greens and sweet potatoes…The lamb chops was all fat no meat on it for real and it was heavily covered in parm garlic sauce 2/10 Greens was salty and extremely soggy had one bit and could not eat it 1/10 Sweet Potatoes was not very sweet at all missing the sweetness 3/10 but the Mac n cheese was the best thing 7.5/10 would I eat here again probably not due to its over priced for the quality of the food but I will go back to buy a side a Mac n cheese if I don’t feel like cooking it

I came here around 6:15pm to see what this place was about for the first time. When I walked in loud music was playing and no one was in sight to help. Another person walked in that was part of the LGBTQ community and right at that moment was helped. They had forgotten their card in the car and ran out to get it. While this person was out I expressed that I was there first and it was my first time. The guy at the counter proceeded to say he thought we was together (he just assumed). I told him no and then he proceeded to take a call and ask what they wanted while I was standing there instead of asking them to hold. As a first timer this definitely soured the experience—thankfully I’m a food connoisseur and would give them a second chance purely for food sake. But as far as customer service this place is severely lacking and it’s super unprofessional.
1 month agoUpon arrival there isnt any parking AT ALL. 1st time here took me about 10 mins to decide due to the fact the menu is poorly designed. Everything seems A la Carte or a least I think it is. I didnt see a single combo meal, lunch, or dinner option. The menu items is sporadic and unorganized. (Never seen this at a soul food place)Moving on to my order I was asked 2x-3x what my order was like everything was being made 1 item at a time. I get my order finally 40 mins later (literally i counted) i go home to see the wings covered in parsley. (its a garnish NOT a seasoning) the steak sub I thought would be like a Philly but it was actual steak pieces thats a plus+, although it was good it didnt look appealing.I like the family pics and Motown icon but the dining room looks like a funeral recession not being funny.I will return more than likely to give it another shotbiggest issues-menu set up-wait (shouldve been 20 mins tops)-interior design

I, unfortunately, was not very impressed. I had high expectations from browsing social media and was unsure of what to order. The guy at the register suggested the pasta and I obliged, however it was just ok. Very aesthetically pleasing, but the sauce was bland and almost tasted jar-like. The noodles were extremely over cooked which put a damper on things as well. My colleague had the bbq Mac and cheese (i forgot the actual menu item name) and really enjoyed it. I suggest trying something other than the pasta. On the bright side, their R&B selections made for a nice homey/feel good vibe. I felt like I was sitting in one of my aunties' house having family time.

I had the WORST restaurant experience ever. Yesterday I wanted to try a new place, that looked good online, I was so excited and couldn't wait to try. I can honestly say I'll never return, I waited over an hour for food that was said would take, "10-15 minutes" of course that was a lie.I love supporting black businesses, but what I experienced was not right at all.So disappointing. My "Seafood Macaroni" was cold, hard pieces, no seafood, just thrown in a container. French fries were soggy, the Philly cheese steak was bland and just a mess, and honestly the best thing I bought was the Kool-aid. No one cares about the food being made, or the fact of how long I waited. Apologies don't really cut it, especially when I was asked multiple times what I ordered, and what sides, also what flavor did I want my chicken wings, WHEN I NEVER ORDERED CHICKEN WINGS.They need to learn how to manag the restaurant better, so it wouldn't be much confusion.
