I will definitely be back to this restaurant! By far the best Mediterranean food in the Kalamazoo area. It’s cooked fresh and fairly priced. The owner and staff are also very friendly.

Cute little place for a quick bite downtown. Tasty schwarma and Falafel! Wraps are huge and their fries are delicious. Also can't beat their fresh squeezed mango juice. If you're looking for an app, I recommend their fried cauliflower. Not a lot of seating inside though, so if you catch them at a busy time you might be standing or have to take the food across the street to Bronson park if it's a nice day. Also since it's downtown, parking is always a bit of a gamble but you can try and find street parking on the weekends for free on the weekends or after 5.Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, cauliflower bites, etc

My father was Jordanian, born and raised; I grew up eating Middle Eastern cuisine. My boyfriend came to eat with me, we drove 45 minutes to get there since we have no Middle Eastern restaurants near our home, he also lived in the Middle East for 7 years and we have never in our lives seen anyone put cheese in a shawarma!! The breading was more of a burrito wrap than a pita wrap and it had way too much liquid, mushy tomatoes, and overall, it did not taste fresh. There was way too much going on in it, definitely not the traditional version we are used to. The hummus tasted like off brand store bought, not even the Sabra brand and the pita bread was hard. I came in starving and left the same way. $35 down the drain. On the plus side, my boyfriend said the fries were phenomenal, and Mountain Dew wasn't bad. This is MY experience here. Will not be back and I'm not interested in arguing with the owner, since they have something to say to every negative comment. If you put more energy into your food and less into commenting snide remarks on people's experiences of your food, it would be a lot better ?

Cairo’s Kitchen is seriously amazing! My only regret is not trying this place sooner.

The chicken shawarma wrap is so so good, a must try! Quality chicken and a delicious and unique sauce that draws me back nearly once a week. Their falafel is also unlike any I have ever had, not oily, but dense and covered with sesame seeds. All in all I love this place and am happy to support the local family that owns it.

Every time I have food from here, I forget to take a pic before I start eating. The food is seasoned well with many vegan options. It does have seating, it's basic. My order was completed quickly. It's great for takeout and meals on the go.

I really wanted to love this food. I was visiting Kalamazoo on business and this was my first night in the city. I wanted to find some good vegan ethnic cuisine within walking distance from my hotel. Cairo's kitchen fit the bill. It's a small space with dine in or takeout. It's counter service, very casual, clean, well light and the dining space seats maybe 20 people. The two young ladies working the counter and kitchen were very pleasant. I waited longer than expected for my food, but I was fine with that knowing that everything was being made fresh and they were busy filling to go orders. I ordered the hummus with chips and a falafel wrap by itself, no french fries. The hummus was liquidity and dense not the usual fluffy and light texture. The chips were fried pieces of sandwich wraps with a sporadic, dusting of za'atar spice. There was plenty of hummus and chips for the price, I was just disappointed what is the texture. My falafel sandwich also was made with the sandwich wrap that was fried for the hummus chips. I would have rather had an authentic Egyptian bread wrap. The falafels were crispy on the outside yet extremely dense on the inside. Sadly, they had the consistency of wet Play-Doh. There was a small amount of lettuce, tomato, and a good amount of garlic sauce. They could stand to increase the amount of lettuce and tomato. The sandwich was a good size for the price. However, again I was extremely disappointed in the falafel texture. I visited the restaurant's website and read their mission statement. I truly believe that the concept of this restaurant and there it's owners have all intentions of delivering on their mission statement. My experience, however, was that they have fallen short of that, at least on this day. If I'm in town again, I might give Cairo's another try however I'm doubtful it would be my first choice. Sorry Cairo's.

Got very sick from food I consumed at cairos kitchen called to let management know and they told me I should be careful about what I eat. Very disappointed and won't be going back.

Service was excellent, very nice people, reasonable time. Family of 5 dined in for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Shawarma beef and chicken the best we have had. Add the pita chips with Hummus and it’s heaven. Koshary and fries good. Living on the lakeshore, Kalamazoo is lucky to have Cairo’s Kitchen! (They also got rid of the styrofoam)

You say you can really tell how good a place is by their hummus. Unfortunately based on their hummus this place is not good. It tastes like refried beans with vinegar in it. Not appetizing at all. I kept feeling like I was having refried beans in a burrito or something. Super disappointing with their pitas too. They're not the good kind. Unfortunately they are the flat, dry dime a dozen kind that you would buy at a grocery store. Not the good kind like you would get from Ed's breads. You know the fluffy ones. So disappointing. I was really looking forward to having this place new to the area. Someplace different than shawarma king. But unfortunately it also disappoints. The garlic sauce is again just acidic white cream. Not good. I honestly feel like the best garlic sauce I've had was at Le kabob in Grand Rapids. I guess I put too much expectation on this place. I will not be returning ?. It was like Mediterranean Mexican food.
