Southwest Michigan's only gay bar. Club Vortex has done many things for JL Services personally. JL Services has donated money many times to help with the lighting and special events. I find that Club Vortex has a special place in my heart. The owners of the club are special people. They care about everyone who comes and goes into Club Vortex. I'm a big supporter of this club. The straight community has found that this is a fun and exciting place to dance, hangout, grab a beer or your favorite mix drink and just relax. The best part is there is no underage drinking. Sorry kids but we adults need our fun legal time. Anyone 21 and older please come see Club Vortex. A place that just means so much to the community. Tried to get in using my tribal ID and they wouldn’t accept it even though it’s a federal ID recognized by the state of Michigan and the Federal Goverment. Weird I can’t get into a club on my own land, had to show my state to get in. Not impressed so far

I was visiting from out of town and decided to visit the “premier lgbtqia bar in Kalamazoo”
There’s nothing premier about this bar. Weird location. Rude front door workers. The bar is full is weird older men who will stare at you. The music was okay, not what expected for a gay bar. Drinks are way over priced for the cup you are getting.
My biggest complaint is that the gross drag queen named “Una” decided that she was going to touch me below the belt because she thought I was “hot”. I’m not sure who the owner of this establishment is but they should be very ashamed that they are letting their staff entertainers so this. Mind you I am gay and find this HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE.
If you like being groped by ugly men in bad drag then this is the bar for you.

I love this place. I visit a friend in battle creek and we always end up here. The people are wonderful. We always have a great time. The theme nights are always fun. This place is a wonderful place for the LGBT community ❤️ or just anybody looking for a nice night out

BEWARE! I opened a tab. Someone behind the bar stole my card and charged almost $300 on LYFT for 3 trips. The organizers of Vortex were of ZERO help and showed little to no concern. NEVER going back there again. If you decide to go, pay cash and don't tip those bastards.
What an amazing energy. Had a blast. Def recommend going. I'll be going as often as possible.

Club Vortex is Kalamazoo's only LGBTQ+ nightclub that is open to anyone who wants to come and dance, meet up and be in a safe, judgement free zone. The club supports the local drag performer's community, and is focused on being a nexus point for the Kalamazoo gay community. As one of the DJs at the club (DJ DazzleShip), I work to play a wide variety of music for the varied crowds that come there; I love big city club/house/techno music, and love to see the dancefloor filled with dancers who are there to REALLY hear the best new music from around the world. I'm also a huge devotee of all forms of retro music (mostly 70's and 80's) and can make a dance floor jump all night to that as well. Like any growing club, the regulars and patrons make the club, and new faces are always welcome as we work to grow, do more exciting events and make Vortex the club that Kalamazoo wants and needs!
