Finally, we tried Cookies Creole N' Soul for the first time earlier today. The food post that popped up on my feed was too enticing to pass up. If your mouth started watering just like mine did, the hype IS true. Ordered the oxtail dinner and fried lobster & shrimp dinner. Food was so delicious and the portion size is like woah! We'll be returning customers. Worth it!

The food was the worst soul food I’ve ever had. The “baked” mac and cheese was soupy? The greens were salty. The chicken was sooo little and smelled like it was fried in old oil. I just don’t think it was worth the price.

I brought my mother in on a friend’s recommendation and they were out of sweet potatoes, dressing, mac n cheese, and french fries. What a disappointment! We had to order double greens which were incredibly spicy and too messy not to be put in a separate container with their pot liquor. My mother and I actually got way too many greens, enough for four or more people. The other sides—dirty rice and red beans and rice were good but only one small piece of catfish in a catfish dinner is not a thing. The only thing that saves this meal for me is that at least it was tasty.

My wife and I had the most amazing shrimp Poboy from Cookies today! I can't even begin to describe how good it was - definitely one of the best I've ever had. The seasoning was absolutely perfect, adding just the right amount of flavor. And let me tell you, the shrimp were top-notch, so fresh and tasty. And the bread - it was simply excellent. I can go back again and indulge in another mouthwatering Poboy from Cookies.
