Great local restaurant, the recent renovations make the entire place more inviting. In addition to offering takeout dining in is a great experience, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is great, and the sushi is delicious.

3.5 stars. I'll share two experiencesAlso would like to state that I've worked in a restaurant setting, and have friends who have as well.First - it was a group dinner and we were seated at the grill. Food was amazing, the chef was spectacular and attentive. It was a great time with friends and family and laughter. Overall extremely enjoyable.Second- sat down in the dining area. I will say it was a busy evening. Slow service was expected, I was very impressed with the staff never slowing down. They did great. However, the reasoning for my 3.5: I ordered the steak hibachi, I ordered the steak medium well and received steak that was incredibly well done, I had a hard time putting my fork in it and ended up having to discard the piece in my mouth because it was not chewable. When our waiter stopped to check on us, I let him know and since they were extremely busy, I asked for the steak part of the dinner to be written off, and not be charged for it (not the whole dinner). The waiter speaks to his manager and informs us that the manager stated "The only way it will get refunded is if she gives me the steak to check myself".. so I told the waiter to chose his piece and he said we can just remake it. We had already been there over two hours, so they did remake it and I asked for medium this time. The steak was better and chewable this time around.Overall, our waiter did his job, the food was fixed. But with the managers response (mind you, whoever they are did not come up to me personally) I felt disrespected (not that it seems like they're going to care about this review). I left the steak on the plate so hopefully they checked it. I still left the waiter a tip over 25% since none of it was his fault.

This was a new experience as this is the only time we've walked out of a restaurant. After being seated, waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged and get our order in, followed by another 40 minutes for one item to show up at the table and an acknowledgment that the rest of the order wasn't put in and it would be a long time to correct. They didn't seem to care, so neither did we.

Me and my husband go here a lot and the last time we went we took our toddler and the waiter loved him. The food and service was great and when our check came I put my card in the bill and when our waiter came back he brought our son an ice cream. Hands down best sushi place we have ever

Definitely love the hibachi option! Always makes it more fun and tastes so much better when it's literally cooked then goes right on your plate. I've only been here twice. First time, we had a smaller group and a waiter that was on top of it, on a less busy night. 2nd time, it was a busy Sat evening with a bigger group. Waitress wasn't as attentive and as she came over to take drink orders, seemed to not hear a couple of people asking for drinks then just walked away. Highly doubt it was on purpose (loud in there plus a language barrier). But she was nice and smiled, which is more than a lot of servers in general actually. Overall, we've had a good experience here.Tip: make reservations for hibachi and have your entire party arrive early, they will not seat you unless everyone is present.

When I'm back in town I'm going back to Kyoto Japanese steak house.Go see & eat for yourselfs. I got double steak, egg fried rice, shrimp all delicious and it sits well in the stomach.

We came in for hibachi Christmas evening and the food was excellent. We were told by the server they had been absolutely swamped in recent weeks due to holiday busyness. Despite the service taking a bit longer due to running out of some ingredients we enjoyed our time & dinner! We always enjoy our experience at Kyoto, always have to give grace when a restaurant is overly busy. We thanked the chef and the manager on our way out for a great experience, they work so hard! Always be respectful to the staff, chef and manager no matter what! Thanks Kyoto, we'll be back soon!
