Check your tabs. My husband and I went and sat at the bar, we got two drinks. We were added a "service charge" of 18% for those two drinks which I think is pretty pathetic. She probably thought she wasn’t going to get a tip as we are Hispanic. I wasn’t given an actual receipt as our server “Gia” told us we could pay on the machine which we selected a 20% tip for her. Didn't notice until we got home and I texted myself the receipt that we were added 18% on top of that. Won’t be going back as the drinks weren’t that great anyways. I don’t even want my tip back, she probably needs it more than I do anyway.

Very efficient and timely with service, even with it being busy. Our waiter José was super respectful and accommodating us whenever he could. The food was fantastic, and priced great. Wait times were as they should be and I couldn’t have been happier with my birthday dinner. Perfect for a nice date night or evening lunch/dinner. Will be coming back!!!!

I liked every part of this place except for the food. The meat my relative had wasn’t cooked enough. My food wasn’t barely even cut and was difficult to eat. I really like the restaurant building, the karaoke and dance though. Service was great as well.

I am Peruvian and I thought I would find the flavor, but it is only something similar, I recommend the ceviches, the rocoto one seemed better than the classic one.

The RIO Peruvian and Mexican restaurant is the real deal and a truly enjoyable experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is spot on its name, very welcoming, and comfortable. There are intimate booth areas, suited for couples and open areas that can serve large groups. This would be a terrific location for office, and/or social group partiesin addition to the atmosphere being spot on, the food is absolutely authentic and delicious. The flavor in my Chaufa Tradicionial, fried rice with pork and Peruvian flavors, dish was just the right balance of strong without being overpowering. It is now one of my new favorite dishes. Our appetizer of Queso Fundido was delicious, had a great zing to it, and the most meat I’ve ever seen anybody include.Topping off the experience were restaurant staff that were extremely pleasant, and very willing to explain everything on the menu to us.Parking: For the size of the restaurant, parking is a little bit constrained, and being on 28th St. there is no available on street parking

I had a really great experience the first time I came to eat at this restaurant. The food was great and I think they have The Best Pisco Sour drink ever. I have been back a few times since my first time and it has been consistent great food and service. Cheers! Salud!

It was my first time visiting. It wasn't busy but we did go during the week and closer to closing (9pm) I was told that on the weekends they do have both side to the restaurant open they have live music (Mariachi) and Karaoke. I ended up getting fajitas Mix it comes with chicken and steak but I also added shrimp. The meat was soft but it honestly didn't have much vegetables like bell peppers. The meal was delicious. The rice a bit dry. I forgot to ask for flour tortilla so I received corn which I don't like because they do get cold if you don't eat tortilla fast enough. I actually enjoy my drink I ordered the passion fruit it was slightly sweet but the taste was fantastic. I did get an order of chips and salsa which are not complementary I paid for that. I would want to try it out again and give it another try.
