“We rented a home on Cowden Lake and found this place while out and about. Cute little downtown area with a few shops. Our family of five (with 3 teens) all enjoyed the food and the service. Tasty food, friendly people! We went back twice more during the week.“

“This is one of the best places to eat on the mountain. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is great.They have a good wine selection and their food is great. The lavender cremebrule is especially good here.It can be a little hard to get in on the holidays as this place can get very busy. It would be nice to see some new items on the menu.Vegetarian options: There is not a good selection for vegan options here. If you are vegan, would suggest a different establishment.Parking: There is parking on the street but it fills up quickly. There is also a small parking lot in the back that is usually full.“

“This little place may not look like much, but the food is wonderful! The atmosphere reminded me of a local town hall, not fancy, but very welcoming. There appeared to be an area for kids to play, so it seems very family friendly. They are best known by the locals for their breakfast, which comes in large portions at very reasonable prices. They have wonderful hommade bread and the burger was great. The fries were a bit undercooked, but that was my fault since I appeared to be the only one ordering a burger at brunch. There appeared to be only 1 waiter, so things took a while, but she was doing a wonderful job considering there were several large groups. Overall, I would say it is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“This place has got food at the same quality of antlers grill but half the price. The service is always excellent and the food is consistently great. I'm surprised this place isn't busier. We are from the Kalamazoo area where we were used to having many good restaurants and up here we've had a difficult time finding any quality restaurants at all. This place is now in my top five!“

“It's a dive bar for sure, but there's nothing bad about that. The food is great, the bartenders are nice, and relatively quick on their feet. The people are all welcoming and social, and it's a great place to be to knock a couple cold ones back with the boys. Multiple tv's so you don't miss either of the games that are on. “10+ years ago, I was coming back from a trip with some friends and we tried to stop here for food but it was too close to closing time for me to push the staff. Instead we drove further into GR and forgot all about it until this weekend, where I found myself sorta lost on those roads less traveled, and found the Clifford Lake Inn. Coming in from the cold, the place welcomes with a warm cozy little bar and live music that was enjoyable. The atmosphere was easygoing and the place a true classic that earned its patina. Bartender was friendly to this stranger and recommended the fish & chips which was delicious. I love finding places like this. Recommended!!!“
