This by all accounts is a typical Michigan diner with incredibly nice staff and very good food. Probably the best Reuben in the Lansing area. With absolutely delicious double fried french fries. Lots of seating and very quick kitchen. Make this one of my favorite places to sit and have a conversation with friends. Also really great breakfasts on the weekend.

Tried to stop in for a meal today on a Saturday. Sign said open and when I went to sit down I was told they were closed and I had to leave. I arrived at 2:30 pm and the website said they were open till 3:00 pm. Last time I was there I was extraordinarily rushed but NEVER AGAIN! I usually try to support the mom and pop restaurants but Athena's can go straight to hell! EF THESE GUYS! DO NOT SUPPORT AND DO NOT PATRONAGE! NEVER EVER COMING BACK!

First customer of the day. Waitress was marginal at best, kitchen slow, food cold, sausage links appeared leftover from the previous day, burnt beyond edibility. I won't be going back there. Leo's coney island and Sarah are my best bet.
