I ate huevos rancheros with barbacoa for breakfast at Jalapeños Mexican Restaurant, located at 12030 suite 101, Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas, near 1604 intersection, on August 29, 2023. The barbacoa didn't look like it should've, a light brown color. I noticed it was dark brown in color, I thought to myself, "well, maybe it's this color because of how it was cooked", so I went ahead and consumed it. An hour or so, after consuming the breakfast, I felt full, bloated, I burped the food all day long, I couldn't eat the rest of the day because my stomach was bloated. I regreted consuming the food. Later that same evening I began to feel nauseous, needless to say, I became very ill. I vometed all night, I had severe diarrhea for three days, then was sick again, vomiting two days later. While ill, I called the restaurant to inform them about my illness, to warn them about the contaminated food, I spoke to a Mexican woman, she only spoke spanish, I asked her for the manager, he wasn't available she replied, to call again later when he gets to the restaurant she continued. I asked her for the managers name so that I may ask for him directly when I call again, she told me, "I can't give you his name, just ask for the manager when you call back". Then she abruptly hung up the phone.I'm finally feeling better and I'm able to write this review to tell others about what this f'ing restaurant served me. I'll never eat at this damned place again!!!!

Food was good, especially carnitas and chips. Cashier charged me more than their published online menu said for a takeout order and even when I proved her wrong, she didn't offer to refund me money. Moreover, she gave me two receipts, one with the price she charged me and one with the price it should've been. The difference being that she gave herself an tip without even asking me! Unbelievable. Definitely not as affordable as you would think when they do stuff like that.

Skip the breakfast burritos. They are delicious, but my dear Lord, their breakfast nachos are to die for! I was a sad panda when I finished my half order, which was 50% more food than I needed.Vegetarian options: I didn't try them, but I am sure they're delicious.
We have ordered delivery for breakfast burritos and they were delicious This time went to restaurant for lunch. Still busy after Covid and there were a few tables available. We all had good meals. Staff efficiently got the long line processed and food was ready in a reasonable wait time.
