The BEST soup in downtown Lansing is at Tavern & Tap. This squash soup is to die for! The Troppo salad was quite delicious too. I would recommend this soup any day of the year!!

Now, this is the first time I've eaten here! I've knocked the food two stars down to three because it just seems like more could have been done with it it actually was a quality product for that alone is why it gets three stars I think it could have been prepared and presented better. I knocked the service two stars not because it was bad service it was just not up to five stars or four as far as I'm concerned. The only reason I didn't give it five stars on the atmosphere it really wasn't that crowded, and it was still somewhat noisy place acoustically. I'm not sure why it's a little noisy in there, but it's a visually beautiful pleasing atmosphere. Is it cool little location down on the corner of Washington Square right down from the capitol. If you're in the area I'd give it a try if you're looking for something a little more fancy restaurant bar feel.Parking: Well, the reason I say it's someone difficult is because it depends on the time of the day you're going there and it's all street parking. you usually can get parking within a block when it is tougher times to find a place to park, Maybe sometimes you got to go two blocks. But most of the time, you usually can park within the block of the establishment you're heading for down in this Washington Square area.

Uninspiring…. Best I can say.. loaded waffle was dry and cold. Toast was barely toasted and cold. Farmers hash was also sub par. I would say the wait staff was good food terrible.

We held an after work party at Tavern & Tap in their Washington Room. All the staff were friendly, incredibly accommodating, and observant/responsive to our every wish.Eric, at the bar, Rachel, and Brandy (servers) and Ashley (communications/room/event coordinator) were all great to work with and everyone had a good time.I look forward to hosting more events at Tavern & Tap and highly recommend for your downtown party interests.
The atmosphere here is warm and friendly. The hostess was hustling to clear tables for those of us on the waiting list - she even thanked us for our patience at least twice. It was an event night in Lansing, I don't know how long the wait would be on an average night, but even with a big event we only waited 15 minutes at most. The tater tots that came with my wrap were the best I've had. They were perfectly crispy and stayed warm for a long time. Our service was excellent - even on a busy night, our food came fast.

My boyfriend and I came for brunch and we will def be back again! He got the biscuits and gravy (he's a gravy fanatic and LOVED it) and I got the eggs benny vegetarian style. So so good. Wish there'd been more hollandaise sauce but the eggs were perfectly poached and the potatoes were perfectly crispy but soft on the inside we also got the cinnamon roll coffee which was soooooooo good and even had a cute mini cinnamon roll on top! Also our server Eric was terrific!!! Food came out super fast!!

This place has such great potential if they could step up their food game. The restaurant itself is adorable and located in a fantastic area. I tried the chorizo hash, and while it was decent, I think there's room for improvement. On the bright side, the mimosas were delicious, and the servers were really friendly! ??

I hadnt checked this place out because of the meh reviews. Then, I went there because I was invited and the drinks were great and cheap. Also had great service. The atmosphere was more upscale than a lot of places in lansing and we enjoyed that. The bartender did mention that they were having trouble finding good people to work there so I can see that potentially being an issue that was addressed in the prior reviews of slow service. I did not eat but the menu looked good and I will definitely be back. I will update if I have a negative experience with the food.

I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad that was supposed to be served on a bed of mixed greens. Instead of mixed greens, the salmon was served on iceberg lettuce. Do they not know the difference between mixed greens and iceberg lettuce?? The server said the salmon would be nicely blackened and prepared with a honey barbeque glaze; the salmon was not prepared that way. They grilled it, put it on the bed of iceberg lettuce, and squirted barbeque sauce on it. This was my first time here, and I was very underwhelmed to say the least. I loved the décor and it had a nice atmosphere. They need to improve on the quality of the food to make it align with the general appearance of the restaurant.
