“Had an enjoyable dinner at Blue Gill. I had the Perch Reuben sandwich and my wife had the Reuben Quesadilla special. We also enjoyed French onion soup and onion rings.Service was very attentive and friendly. We were there March 16th so a lot of customers were dressed in green for St Patrick’s Day. Mixture of young families, college students and older couples in the restaurant all having a fun time.“
“Went with a group of friends and did the axe throwing. It was such a fantastic time! Tre was a great help showing us how to throw and he kept checking up on us to make sure we were having a great time. I would recommend coming here if you want a new unique experience we will be coming back for sure“
“A beautifully put together space, with all Michigan based products, from the decor, to the merchandise to the furniture. What more could you ask for?? What makes this place really unique? They specialize in dry ciders, which in my experience is not easy to find!“
“This is a lovely place! Unique menu items, great flavors, nice portions and great service. Went to another restaurant but they had water main issues so they recommended the soup spoon cafe. I fell in love. Went back again to take my boyfriend out to breakfast and I knew he wouldn’t be disappointed. I was right! He love it as well. No doubt, it will become a regular spot from now on!“
“Excellent burgers and great price. Beer is cold. They only had 1 waitstaff on besides a bartender on a Saturday afternoon, took a while to get some service but we were acknowledged by someone (not sure if he was a manager) so at least we were not ignored. Once our order was taken, drinks came fast and food shortly after. Great environment, music was great, keno, and cold beer! Waitstaff was very friendly.“
“The only thing better than the bar staff, and the atmosphere is the food. The Pho was better than two Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to, and the sushi was on point. All in all 10 of 10, would recommend.Dietary restrictions: Soy, peanut, milk, corn, and gluten dietary restrictions: was able to eat with little modifications.“
“My husband and I have been going to The Ocean Crab for over a year now. We’ve never had a bad experience there. The staff is friendly, the food is always delicious, and they just added to their menu which was also amazing. We tried the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was amazing! The pork roll was perfectly cooked, there were plenty of vegetables nestled into mix, and the broth was rich and felt like comfort in a bowl. If you’re looking for a really good seafood/Asian/Cajun mix of food, this is where you should go!“
“Fun fact about Moriarty's: they host jazz bands on Tuesday nights, and for that I love them. Ok, I'm wildly biased by the jazz offering. The pub itself is super divey, hole-in-the wall. Opposite of upscale. Drink and food selection are not great. But the staff are really kind and responsive, so that helps.“
“We had Taquito AF. It was decent, nothing special. There were so many restaurants to choose from, I was surprised. I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s a food court with delicious international foods. I’m going to make it a lunch spot for the next few weeks to try out all of the cuisines.“
“I met a friend here because the kitchen is open until 10:45, and we were hungry. Had the duck fat fries (which were the best item of what we had) in addition to the deviled eggs and a pizza. They kill you with add-on charges (over $1 for a side of ranch or garlic sauce for example, plus more to sprinkle a little cheese on the fries). The deviled eggs had a very odd chemical taste to me, which I think had to do with the mustard used. The pizza we had, which was some prosciutto and habanero cream combination recommended by the chef was nothing special. The atmosphere is good, and even better when the patio is open. Don't expect a good value for either the food or the drinks when you come here though...“
“Great location with a lot of nearby parking in the garages. Views over campus are perfect. Bar service is fast (hey, it's a campus bar after all!), but service out on the patio is great, too, if you are patient because the place does get full. They do enforce id's, of course, but they also enforce the maximum head count. This is fabulous because it means they get full but never overpacked (you know what I'm talking about). Decent selection of beers and whiskeys. Wine choices are slim but ok. They'll make any mixed drink you can name or describe, so go for it. If you want to enjoy the views with less of a crowd, go early. But if you want the views, the crowd, and the energy? Go after dark!Dietary restrictions: Keto friendlyLow carb friendlyCarnivore friendlyPaleo friendly“
“The Ave is a Lansing staple, hosting some of the best food in the city and an awesome environment. You can have many different kinds of night at the Ave. You can go there for a nice dinner, you can go there for a drink and a show, or you can go there and get absolutely ripped. All are 5 star experiences, and the people complaining about service at a punk bar like it's an Olive Garden are lame as hell.“
“My favorite bar in Lansing. Great bar staff, friendly patrons, cold beer. This is a dive. It's nice to see they still exist tucked in the middle of these places with over-priced drinks, trying to be like every other bar. PS, the menu on the photo is not accurate. There are nightly specials though. ( walking taco, pulled pork, wings)“
“As always, food and service was awesome. Alyssa, our server, was great! She kept track of how long our appetizer was taking, and also found someone for us who knew how to make an older mocktail recipe that is no longer on the menu. Thank you Alyssa!“
“Cool place if you like dimly lit dive bars. Was visiting for my son's basketball tournament. Walked in with my wife and was immediately greeted by some friendly locals They welcomed us and told us the jukebox is free lol. You can play anything you want and they love it. Come on over here if you want a delicious bloody Mary and a beer.“
“Best Pizza Around!! It hit the spot on New Years Day for my Momma that has been hospitalized for 2 weeks. I broke her in to 2024 with the Best, for the Best. Also; Thanks to one of the Regulars for the Warm Hug and Well Wishes for my Mom! *Cheers*“
“My husband and I visited on a Wednesday night and had a great experience! It was a fun atmosphere without being too loud. We both had cheeseburgers with fries and a Michigan Mule. Everything was SO delicious and fresh. All of the staff were super friendly and attentive. Honestly, we did not have high hopes for this place as it's a bar across from a college campus, but we were pleasantly surprised!! Will definitely return next time we are in town.“
“What a great place with great food and great service. Came in around 8:30 PM with a group of eight following a graduation at MSU. Met the Manager who toldMe they close at 9:00 but they would stay open for us to order food. We were able to have a few drinks, appetizers and sandwich which everyone agreed were excellent. Anna I believe was her name was our waitress and she was excellent.“
“After trying two other bars we dropped in here to see what the music and people were like. We found our place! Awesome band, little older crowd which is exactly what we wanted (no skanks half naked walking around) TONS of dancing and drinks were flowing. Crowd was perfect for us and I'm just sad that I don't live anywhere near there because this would be "my place"!! Next time we are in the area, The Green Door is my nighttime stop!!!☑️?“
“My husband and I recently dined at Toscana for the first time, and it was an experience that left a lasting impression. While the food was undeniably delicious and the drinks were expertly crafted, what truly set this restaurant apart was the exceptional service. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were warmly welcomed by the bartenders, Fynn and Manny. Their genuine hospitality made us feel right at home, and their attentive care throughout the evening was unparalleled. Fynn's recommendation for my meal turned out to be a delightful surprise, showcasing his deep understanding of the menu and his commitment to ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience. Not only did the staff excel in providing outstanding service, but they also went above and beyond to accommodate our inquiries and preferences. When I inquired about an ingredient in one of the desserts, Nathaniel kindly brought out a sample for me to try, ensuring that I was completely satisfied with my choice. Manny took the time to share insights about the local area, making us feel like valued newcomers here in Michigan. Overall, our visit to Toscana was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of delectable cuisine and unparalleled hospitality has left us eagerly anticipating our next visit. Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday celebration truly memorable!“
“I miss the old dark hole in the wall and the amount of death metal bands that would play, I do have to say it is a comfortable place and the staff is friendly and attentive, the place feels a lot bigger and brighter especially with the drop ceiling out. I'd say probably still my favorite bar/venue in the Lansing area“
“I dined at Joe’s on Jolly for the first time tonight with a large group. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good; everything came out very hot! The service was ok. I did think it was a bit pricey. I was a little off put when it came time to pay and the waiter said there was already a 20% gratuity added to my bill and held out the screen for me to add an additional tip. The screen showed 5, 10, or 15% options… for an additional tip. I felt that was definitely unnecessary when an automatic gratuity is already added.Parking: Easy to find a spot.Kid-friendliness: There were some arcade games in the back which would have been nice for kids.“
“As much as East Lansing has changed in the last 20 years, this place hasn’t and I love it. I almost got lost going because I didn’t recognize my old neighborhood but felt a return to home when I walked in. Buckets of beer, the MSU fight song sang after a Spartan win, and some after dinner karaoke to finish out a great reunion with some classmates. Get the tater tots!!“
“Love this bar. I would say one of the best dive bars around. Love the outdoor seating, beer is cold and everyone is so friendly. Only popcorn is available, but I saw people ordering delivery. If you want a place with a cool vibe and great drinks look no farther.“
“The atmosphere was amazing. We were seated right away. Our food came out fast. Our waitress was friendly. The only issue was the Nacho supreme wasn't that great. Cheese was a bit burned and the meat was pretty dry. Everything else we ordered was great!“
“amazing service, great food and drinks, we will be back! food took a little while but i don’t mind waiting if it’s delicious with a good atmosphere! the french dip was more of a brisket sandwich but delicious nonetheless.very happy with our first time in!“
“Henry's was one of the first places we went to have a beer and some food upon moving to Okemos. It is a standard bar eatery. The service is personable, polite and always entertaining. Their menu holds up, with options for all eaters. They have very tasty food at a respectable price. Don't forget to have some oysters, as they are both tasty and great with a cold beer. The ambience is straight forward and wide open. It's not a quiet place, but it's a good place to meet people and have a transient conversation while enjoying good food and drink. They offer some screens with sports and great people watching. I recommend Henry's Place for a great experience in Bar Americana.“
“We went here while in the area for a racing related event. We got a new waitress Lauren. She was fast friendly and wonderful to deal with. She must be a great addition this place. The food was great with diet friendly options we noticed. I got a Steak with Avocado and it was cooked to perfection. Great job who ever runs this place for getting the best people.Dietary restrictions: Semi Keto FriendlyParking: Parking all around and more“
