We started with the shrimp cocktail appetizer and a ceasar salad, both were delicious. The salad comes with chopped anchovies upon request. For my main, I got the steak sanders cooked medium. I usually get my steaks cooked medium rare but medium was perfect, medium rare would’ve been too red for me. The steak was absolutely amazing! Melted in my mouth and full of flavor. The sides come in big portions to share with the table, we got roasted garlic whipped potatoes and the potatoes gruyère gratin (basically fancier cheezy potatoes). Everything was delicious!! Wine was great with the steak and for dessert we shared an espresso martini and a complimentary s’more flavored dessert. Very pricey but 100% worth it!!

The other reviews raised my expectations too much, so I'm writing this to bring the reviews back down to earth. This is a nice restaurant for sure. But if you are at all expecting a high end, romantic, or special occasion type place I wouldn't bet on this Hyde Park.I don't normally eat at steakhouses (since I don't eat steak or any meat other than fish), but I assumed based on the prices (and reviews) that this restaurant would be upscale. So, I made sure not to wear jeans, and though I didn't dress up for just a weeknight dinner I did put in a little effort to look stylish in some nice slacks and light makeup. I expected to be a little underdressed. I was not. Everyone that I could see was dressed pretty casually and one women even had on light colored jeans and a t-shirt. She wasn't sloppy by any means, she just looked like she was heading to Target. (And that's her right, I'm just painting the picture of the atmosphere and crowd.) That same woman and her male dinner partner had an 8-10 y/o child with them. So, basically they showed up at Hyde Park like it was a Denny's. The child was well behaved other than constantly wet coughing with his mouth open. Nevertheless, to me the presence of children creates a vibe that is far from grown and sophisticated. (I should have known when I saw the kids menu :/.)I was very impressed when I walked in and was warmly greeted by everyone at the front desk. I was accommodated with a nice cozy booth without having to ask, even though I was dining alone. And, at one point the manager came over to check on me and introduce himself. Great service in these regards. Other than that, the service was just ok and even a little underwhelming. My server was cordial, but not overly friendly nor accommodating. When she brought my food, she just sat it in front of me without saying anything (like "here you go" or "salmon with..."). I did get the standard "Do you need anything else" and the check-in about 10 mins into my meal. But where she lost me was about 20 mins in as I was not even 1/4 through my food, she came and asked if I wanted boxes or if I was "still working on it". I told her to bring the boxes but that was still eating. I checked my clock and it was only 8:30 p.m. (why was she rushing me?). Up until then I had been enjoying my meal, my book and my me time. But, now I was very aware that she was ready for me to clear out. I still took my time and if I wasn't stuffed I would have stayed until closing just to prove a point. But around 8:45 I couldn't eat another bite and I did have to get home. So, I started boxing up and like a vulture she came and started clearing my dishes - almost as I was setting them down. Then another waiter whom I hadn't seen all evening came and started clearing my table as well. I have never felt so rushed and low key unwelcome in what is supposed to be a nice restaurant. All in all, I don't think I'll run back to this restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh (hence the 4 stars), but not worth the price and nothing I can't make myself (I paid $42 for 8 oz of what I'm sure was Atlantic farmed salmon, over $50 for $10 worth of sides and another arm and leg for bottled water and ginger ale). I knew the price point going in, so I rationalized that I'd be paying for the ambiance, service and "specialness". But, the ambiance is casual, the table service was just above bad and there was nothing special about the experience. So, it's just not worth the money.

Some of the dishes weren't worth the money as far as taste. I found a shell in my lobster mac, so I would just be careful

One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. I think it spoiled me for other steakhouses. As you would expect, service was outstanding. There is not a dress code per se, but I would recommend dressing up a little. Gentlemen, wear at least a polo shirt or a dress shirt.I would also recommend making reservations.Everything here is high quality, and you will pay accordingly.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian? Don't go to a steak house for dinner. No offense, you just won't have many options.

Met the owner in Florida last year and I am glad I did. The waitress was amazing and all of her recommendations were on point!! Steak cooked to perfection - the ahi appetizer was highlight of my food flavors I appreciate how friendly everyone was; wishing my husband a happy birthday and all the staff personally signed a card for him! If you like Gin, get the drink called “bees' knees” This was my second time coming and each time was a great experience... definitely going back

I went to celebrate my birthday with my family. There were several waiters and waitress. The older blonde waitress was very rude, she acted like she didn't want to wait on us, she was very sarcastic in her comments. I hate to pull the race card, but that's the way my family and I felt. I watched her interact with others she was very nice and bubbly with them, she was even willing with them. But when she came back to my party her whole attitude changed for the worst. As High as the prices were and the fact they charge a gratuity, service could have been a lot better. That was my first visit there and I willnever go back, and will make sure I tell others about the horrible experience I had at Hyde prime Steak in Novi.

The service here is top notch, however the food was a disappointment. The crab cake was very bad and upset my lady’s stomach. My steak was not cooked properly and suspected not prime grade. The manger stood there and argued my steak was medium rare when clearly rear. We will not return.
