Good food and waitress was nice but the $4 charge for an empty plate to share a sandwich took this once regular stop off the my list for good

This is listed as a coney island, but it is more elevated than the traditional cony island. The food is good and they serve nice portions. The menu is also vast. They have so many choices for breakfast. Their salads are huge. You will leave full. The atmosphere looks newer and modern. Service was good. The prices are average.

Best place on earth! Best chicken lemon rice soup EVER - I buy it by the quart. Also love their pitas (Athenian, Olympian), breakfast burrito, Athens salad, coneys, gyros - you can’t go wrong!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly
We stopped in for a quick bite to eat. My date ordered the special and I ordered a salad after about 20 minutes and 3 refills on our coffee, our waitress came to the table and apologized for forgetting to put in our order. She proceeded to tell us that it was her fault and not ours!? Well obviously it wasn't our fault. It was another 5 minutes after that to receive our food. As a former waitress, I would have offered a discount on the check or maybe a dessert but we weren't offered anything for the mess up. I was disappointed to say the least, we had other places to go that day and it put us behind as well. The food was good, I've been here numerous times in the past and had good service. The restaurant was also cold.

I hadn't been to Athenian in several years. I used to visit it quite often for weekend breakfast. But today, I had the extreme displeasure of visiting Athenian again. As I was eating my lunch, the owner "John" sent a waitress over to me to tell me to turn my phone down. My phone was sitting next to my plate and the audio was so low, I could not even make out what was coming out of it. My response was, "excuse me?" Then "John" starts chiming in that "the acoustics are really bad in the restaurant and it's really loud." I replied, "There are conversations going on everywhere that are so loud, even I can't hear my phone." And the only reason "John" even knew I had the audio on was because he sat down in a customer seat across from me as he seemed exhausted from ringing customers up. I'm sure ringing the cash register is the only cardio "John" has done in the past 20 years! I then told "John" that I will never be coming back to his restaurant. To which he replied, "Now you're being rude, so I'm going to be rude." Really, that's your definition of rude, me saying I won't come back to a restaurant where the owner begins to berate a paying customer for no reason. The reason I keep typing "John" with quotes around it is because "John" didn't have the guts to tell me his name. I had to get that info from one of his employees. One would think that if you were the King of the Jerks, you'd want to wear that crown and scream your name at the top of your lungs. Well, "John" I just want to let you in on a little secret. I'm not the only person who thinks you are a bombastic jerk. I will guarantee you that every single one of your employees hates you and can't stand dealing with you every day. But, they don't ever say anything because they don't want to risk their livelihood. Bully bosses are all the same; they treat people like garbage for no other reason than that they can. Well, "John" I'm not one of your employees and I will gladly never come to your restaurant again, encourage anyone I know never to visit it again, and gladly conclude that you are a first class jerk!

It’s a decent strip mall coney, the food was quite good and the service was decent. The chili is very tasty and was probably the best item I had there.
Fast, friendly service! I had the original gyro with a side of the crispiest french fries ive ever had (very delicious). It was very good and very filling, couldnt finish it all.

This place is definitely worth checking out. The food was great - they didn’t nickel an dime you when you asked for extras, our waitress was so nice and stopped by several times to make sure we were good and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.Vegetarian options: Make anything you want vegetarian
