First time visit. Nice place for after work drinks. Had a burger that was pretty good. The only thing that could have been better was the truffle fries. There was NO truffle in the first and paid extra for it. Fries were cold as well.

Great spot in our neighborhood, with lovely decor. The service can be spotty, where they are confused about drinks menu or bring out the wrong item. I am hoping they will straighten that out soon. Other than that, great ambience, and good yummy food.

Very enjoyable dinner last night at this place. Warm welcoming and seated right away. Choice of high top, booths or tables...always nice to have a choice. We started with the Brussels sprouts/bacon app. It was good but honestly a little dry. But I'd order it again. The bread is DIVINE! With warm butter. And they will just keep bringing it. I had the chicken and wild mushroom on linguine. Very good. But it's very, very mushroom tasting. I liked it, I love mushrooms...it's a strong mushroom dish! My friend has the steak bite app as her main course. There's definitely enough for a main course. Very tender Thanks Nick for excellent service and for those delicious drinks. I'll definitely be back to this lovely place.

Our first time at this lovely establishment was a delight! Brianna, the fantastic bartender, added to the experience with her kindness. The drinks were amazing, and even on a Sunday night, we're excited about returning next week for both drinks and dinner. Highly recommend this place!

Where is this place! Is it in Oakland? Why, yes, it is in Oakland! How do you know? PSSST...I'll tell you a secret, it's in the name. What!!?? In the name? Then I look up and see it's called the Oakland, oh, my bad. Not Oakland California, but the OT, Oakland Township Michigan! A place where you might have cell service, dirt roads abound, and the people are great drivers ;) Now on to the food and drink!! Get the burger, get an old fashioned and chill. Yep, that's my recommendation burger, old fashioned, chill and repeat!!! Then go try to use your cell phone, I dare you lol!!!

Stopped in for dinner, had a wonderful time. The ambiance is amazing, the staff are super kind. Critiques: the cocktails are very forgetful, I've also tried the brunch menu cocktails and they were just as bland. The food however, incredible. When I had my first bite of bread and butter I knew this was about to be an exquisite meal. Soups were delicious, but the lettuce leaves on my caesar salad lacked a little crunch. BUT THE STEAK TIPS? Incredible, loved the crunch of the burnt parks and the juicy meat inside. The mushroom chicken pasta was also incredible but I am a little lost as to why there was mozzarella and balsamaic on top of the chicken. With the sauce being as flavorful as it is, it seems like that was more of a plating choice than flavor choice. Overall we will be coming back, I may sound like a picky gal but it is hard to find food nearly as good as the food here.

We’ve now been to The Oakland five times in the past year and have really enjoyed the food, the people and hospitality and atmosphere each time.

Love everything about Oakland Kitchen! Service, atmosphere, the staff all 10/10! And not to mention the best part -- the food and drinks! Always fantastic. I love going here it never disappoints! I also have several food allergies and they've always been very accommodating which is appreciated! Would highly recommend

I realy truly hate giving negative reviews but I feel like I really tried. My wife and I were so excited when this place opened. I was excited to see someone put some money into a place and put some effor into this location. While the look and feel of the place is great the service, drinks, and food are not anywhere near as good. I have been here three times and after each time I ask myself why am I giving them another chance. You cannot try to act like a high end restaurant and have a child as a waiter that forgets everything you ask for. My drink, my soup, my after dinner espresso. With the prices that this place charges I expect impeccable service. After asking for my soup for the third time I recieved it cold. The fruit flies interupted my dinner probably 100 times and its annoying to be constantly waiving your hand to get them away from your face. I am sorry but that is it for us. We tried and tried and tried but now we are done. Good luck I really hope you can turn it around somehow.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. The food was delicious, especially the Cajuan Shrimp & Carrot Cake. We had two starters, four appetizers, and three desserts. Plus, our drinks were good too, I loved my rosé. Everything was made to perfection. The service was top-notch, extremely welcoming, and attentive. I celebrated my birthday here, and I am so glad I did. I was made to feel truly special! The ambiance and atmosphere were lovely, and the decor was lovely. Excellent experience, I shall definitely return to try more delicious food and drinks!

Only stopped in for cocktails one evening, however, my date enjoyed the craft cocktails they made, which the bartender created on her own! It was a nice atmosphere, for a strip mall location.

2 of us for brunch today. *Review is regarding service, not food. Restaurant had a table of about 12 outside and one other table of 4 inside. We were seated by the hostess & greeted by a bus boy, who brought us waters and a Diet Coke for me but after that we sat for 10 minutes w/o a waiter or anybody else coming over at all. The waiter that was to take care of our table, went to the table next to us twice, and never even acknowledged us. We got up and left, and neither the 3 bus people, the waiter who saw us get up or the hostess we passed by said a single word. Yes, there was a large group on the patio, however, I would think a restaurant like this would be staffed to serve about 20 people during a brunch. We went over to the Jagged Fork and they had no problem. We've enjoyed the Oakland for dinner a few times, but never again. I don't mind waiting, but being ignored is a different thing.
