I used to travel for work and got to enjoy bbq from many of the famous bbq cities is the US, and would put The Smoke Doctor in the same class as any of them. They have food that is truly fantastic and to top it off, they are the nicest people you can imagine. The owner always recognizes me and is very personable. I am so happy to have such a great restaurant so close to home!

I rarely give 5! It’s a small mom and pop shop they have a few tables inside but BBQ is best enjoyed outside anyways. I got the breakfast sandwich brisket, egg, cheese in between sugared waffles, absolutely amazing, brisket had a good bark and the meat was a perfectly juicy deep red! They even asked how I wanted my egg cooked. Also got the brisket burger which was something I’ll dream of getting to stuff my face with as well. Lastly I got a small order of Mac N Cheese it was good nothing to write home but what I liked was it wasn’t the run of the mill BBQ joint Mac with that cheese whiz texture it was a little oily but it had some little spiced added. I personally thought for the size and portions the prices were very reasonable

Hands down the best food I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying!

We tried the brisket dinner and brisket Mac, both very good. The hosts were super friendly and gave us a taste of their loaded potatoes. We'll be back for those next time. So glad you guys are in the neighborhood!

15$ for a chicken breast dried out and the cheapest pork and beans and old loaded mashed potatoes. You could tell this business is struggling, from how filthy it was inside and it seemed as though it was a husband and wife team. Husband made food and wife taking care of customers while yelling at her son because that’s where little boys want to be at 7pm on a Saturday night. The wife was rude and told another customer that she wasn’t going to make something he wanted because it was to late and it wouldn’t be worth it to her.. Won’t be going there again.

Stopped in for lunch today, a mixed experience. Ordered brisket and ribs with beans and mac n cheese sides.Prices seem a little high for the offering, but that seems to be a normal condition everywhere. The sides are ho hum, mostly mac no cheese, beans completely unremarkable. The meats are a different story. Very deep smoke ring on the brisket, nice flavor. Ribs are flavorful, and both meats are not dry, which is pleasant, but there is a downside. The reason for the moistness appears to be some sort of au jus drippings drizzled on the brisket and poured on the ribs. The result is moist and flavorful, but the bark is pretty mushy. I believe the bark has a good rub and bark before the au jus treatment, hard to tell after the deluge. If I go back I will only get meats and ask for any drippings or liquid adds to be on the side for dipping, I like bark that barks.

The Mandwella Effect

I came in here a few weeks ago and was hoping to cure my hankering for bbq, but left quite dissatisfied. My fiancé and I both dined in that evening and were both saddened with the portion sizes for the prices we paid. I ordered the brisket dinner ($15.95 plus tax) along with the mac-n-cheese and loaded mashed potatoes as my two sides. The brisket itself was more fat, rather than the high quality meat I paid for. The mac-n-cheese was extremely bland. I tried my best to sprinkle it with the mini salt and pepper packets, but sadly it didn’t help whatsoever. The loaded mashed potatoes weren’t any better. They were not seasoned and had hunks of burnt cheese sprinkled throughout. I chose to not eat either side dish and power through this unfortunate dinner experience. My fiancé ordered the brisket and ribs combo dinner ($15.95 plus tax) along with french fries and a piece of cornbread as his two choices of sides. His brisket was the same as mine, which ended up being more fat than high quality meat. His four ribs were more bone than actual meat. The fries are not seasoned, nor were they anything special. The portion size was laughable, especially after paying a $3 up charge. He would of been better off ordering a side of appetizer fries for $3.75. The cornbread was extremely small in size, cold, and had no sweet or savory flavor to it at all.The fact we had to pay an extra $3 as an “upcharge” for these fries is absolutely ridiculous. I personally think it’s bad for business when you don’t give the customer some type of bread already along with the combo meal they’re already purchasing. Most bbq restaurants will give you a piece of cornbread, dinner roll, or some type of sliced bread with your meal. The bbq sauce used at this establishment is literally Sweet Baby Rays mixed with some “extra ingredients” they choose to toss in. The tiny containers they give you filled with the bbq sauce is only halfway filled at best. It makes me truly wonder and question the authenticity of this bbq joint altogether. The drinks offered here are seriously limited and not worth the price of $2.49 per bottle. You would think they would offer homemade sweet tea or lemonade, but they do not. Another huge disappointment was they offer no dessert options. No homemade pie, cakes, cobblers, banana pudding, or any type of pudding for that matter. Even if you don’t offer a wide selection of desserts, you could still have just a few options available to the customer. We spent $42.24 altogether on our date night and will not be returning to this establishment.Parking: There’s a couple handicapped spaces available.
