Food was excellent and the chef was great. Only downside was the party next to us was really drunk and rowdy. So not really a fault of the restaurant except the sake squirts were continuous and a bit much considering how intoxicated two of the men were.
This review is based on mainly the service the food is always good but the service is one of the main reasons we come here. Trevon was our waiter and if I can give more than 5 stars I would give him every one. He’s very patient as we are very indecisive. He’s very kind, efficient, and went more then above and beyond to make sure we were well takin care of and had everything we needed. Infinite stars!!!!

Food was delicious & they actually included the onion in the veggies after doing the fire volcano act and was light on how much sauces/seasonings go into the food. Not much of a "show" otherwise and no broccoli throwing like most places like this do. Also, they don't offer noodles with your hibachi meal BUT they do give you soup AND salad with it. Overall, we would definitely come back. ?
I was hoping to see Joe and missimg him. Thankfully everyone at Sakura does a great job. Thanks for a wonderful strak and shrimp Hibachi dinner and Sparty Roll... Cheers!
Awesome place to grab some sushi ? or hibachi in portage. If you want the dinner and the show on the hibachi side of the restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night I would recommend making a reservation 1 to 2 days in advance. If you don't want the dinner show they have plenty of tables on the non hibachi side of the restaurant. You can still get hibachi on the non hibachi side as well. My favorite place to sit in the restaurant is at the bar some of the best bartenders in portage michigan.

Love the hibachi grill for special occasions. I took my wife there for her birthday and surprised her when the rest of the family showed up too. Love the filet and shrimp with fried rice. Good yum yum sauce here. ?
Their habachi is really good, but I got take out fried rice and it was a completely different thing from habachi. Almost no veggies at all, didn’t see any egg, and the taste was way off. It was honestly gross and i unfortunately bought two servings of it. Not sure why they would have sides of fried rice but so different than what they make on the habachi table.
