Spent $10 on chicken chow mein and this is what I got. A bowl full of wet cabbage and some chicken fat. Gotta love places that ask for a tip before even getting the order correct. Even paid a "convenience fee" for ordering online. Save your money for a different place.

We have eaten at, or had takeout from, New China Buffet many times over the past 10 years, and they have never failed to satisfy. The staff is always helpful and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. I've eaten at a number of Chinese restaurants here in Michigan, and the New China Buffet in Portland is my favorite, by far!

i eat here at least once a month with my buddy. and i bring my out of town guest here when taking them out to eat very nice people the food is very good the service is very good the place is very clean. not perfect but then what place is ?sometimes during warmer months we go here a few times a week its not far from lyons and its best chinese i had in michigan thank you for being a cool and pleasant place to dine :)
Driving home from Grand Rapids when we decided to get off the highway for food. Planned to go to Taco Bell but saw New China and had a sudden urge for Chinese food. We saw 7 or 8 cars in the lot and made the right choice coming here. Friendly staff seated us right away. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. I use hot & sour soup as my rating for Chinese restaurants and the soup here was very good. You won't go wrong here

Does not look like much is another review said, but I just ate here for the first time, and I was impressed. The place is very clean. It was the middle of the afternoon, which is usually the worst time to go to a Buffet, but the food was hot and fresh, and they were replenishing regularly. I also loved the every table had its own hand sanitizer. I usually bring my own due to touching all the tongs, but I had forgotten, so it was a very much a surprise and delight that each table had its own sanitizer. I hesitated on giving it five stars - because it's really just a junky little Chinese buffet. But then I thought "it is what it is - they aren't trying to be a Michelin rated fine dining establishment - for 10 bucks. It's a good deal and they're doing a very nice job.
