Everything tasted like it had been prepped earlier and then microwaved. Lo Mein was dry, general Taos was bland, breading was soggy and falling off, and the chicken, fried shrimp and eggrolls were fried in old oil. Good customer service earned second star.

Now this is my usual spot to go to the food is usually amazing best around but something was wrong this time I ordered 5 dinners all different everyone's meal was fine but mine I ordered sesame chicken and something did not taste right so I only ate a small amount by the next day without getting in to details let's just say I was not doing well I got food poisoning....

I have been eating Happy Garden since I was a baby, so for the past 27 years! When I tell you this is the only place my family and I get our Chinese food! They have been consistent all this time. A few years ago they got new owners but they kept all the original recipes and I love that so much. Thank you so much Happy Garden for the amazing food and service.

Used to love this place. I think ownership has changed, as last time I ordered, the charge showed up on my credit card as "New Happy Garden." Recipes seem off, and portions have changed. I just can't go back. What did it for me was the time they gave me a partial incorrect order on a take-out. They called me and asked if I could come back so they could give me the right food. When I pulled up and popped my trunk, she gave me the right bags and took out the wrong food and mentioned she needed it to give to the proper customer. I never touched it, but it was clear that if they did that with someone else's order, they could easily do it with my order. Once it leaves with someone else, I don't want it. I have to look for a new local place. Shame.

Heard about this place from a man who dialed the wrong number. He was praising this restaurant. I thought to myself let me try it out too. I went today tried their sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. It was good they actually have chicken breast as their meat. The sweet and sour reminds me of Jet King that's no longer in business. Give them a try. It's a small place and entrance in the back way. I'll come back to try other dishes
So happy we tried this restaurant! We have been looking for a Chinese restaurant that had the exact kind of food as they have here since COVID changed everything. Just like it has been since I've been eating Chinese around Redford and metro Detroit since the 80s. The egg rolls have bean sprouts in them and they use snow peas, baby corns and water chestnuts in their recipes. I swear every other Chinese restaurant in the area told me they can't get them and substitute with just chopped carrots and broccoli. Will definitely be making this restaurant a regular and can't wait to eat there again. Thank you!!!Vegetarian options: Even though they don't have it on the menu, I asked for szechuan vegetable and they made it to perfection. A large array of veggies and so yummy. I'm sure they can do it with most dishes, just ask for no meat.
This was the first time we ordered food from Happy Gardens. It was excellent. It was very favorable. In my opinion it is the best Chinese food around. The price is good in my opinion. The size of food was pretty big. Happy Gardens thank you for a wonderful dinner!!!
