I stopped in for Dim Sum on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30pm. Since this was too late for lunch and too early for dinner there were only two other people in the restaurant. We had 4 people with us and ordered a lot of dim sum. Everything was really good. The staff are very friendly. We will go back again for dim sum. Our favorites were deep fried squid, shrimp kau, shiu mai and beef baby ribs. The rest were also good but the above was great! The bill was $68 before tipParking: There is plenty of parking and a few handicap spots as well

Dim sum is good here. You have to order by menu there are no carts. I’ve never had their other food on the menu but I am sure it’s good.

I've lived in Michigan for about a year now and if you're familiar with the ecosystem, Chinese food is not a strong suit for Michiganders, at least not on the bottom corner of the palm. Most places I've tried have been just variations of Panda Express, which there is nothing wrong with on most days. But when you're craving San Francisco quality chinese food, there's much left to be desired. Cheng's Restaurant is the first place I've had that's been able to compare. The meat dumplings were piping hot and especially crispy, the fried shrimp dumpling, the same! The shrimp rice noodles (cheng fun) were filling and oh that sweet soy sauce. A friend and I arrived shortly after they opened and were attended to right away. It was quiet at first but it eventually got really busy. Where I'm from, a reliable gauge of a restaurant's quality is whether the individuals who are native to the cuisine frequent the establishment. And this was no disappointment! If you're looking for panda express food, there are tons of places (Ping On, 1st Wok etc..), but if you want authentic Cantonese dim sum, look no further!

Ordered sesame chicken combo platter. Chicken was dry, tough and didn't taste fresh. It was also drowning in an overly sweet sauce. Fried rice was bland and didn't have much onion or chicken in it. The worst part was finding a piece of hair in the rice, totally disgusting!! It was my first time there and it'll be my last!
Recommended dishes: Egg Drop Soup, Hot Pot, Hot and Sour Soup, Sweet and Sour Chicken

Tried many in the area, Cheng's is as close to authentic as it gets. Dim sum is flavorful and best in town. We've tried three other spots close by and they barely compare to Cheng's.
