Really, really, really laaaaaaaaaaid back, but everyone is nice. But ration your drink. The food took forever. Pretzels are ok, but no real flavor, so definitely need to eat with dip. Brisket was very good, no complaints there.

Brown Iron is my happy place! Best taplist around for stout drinkers, and great food. Kailee is my go to server. She is super friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the beers. I request her specifically when I come. Tonight I had my birthday party and she handled our table of 15 like a pro. She was on top of everything, everyone’s specific orders and made the night perfect!

What happened to this place? I come here a couple times a month and the experience has degraded as of late. To start, as I walked in (party of 2) I was informed that there was a wait of 10 to 15 minutes. No big deal, that happens at a lot of restaurants. So I sit waiting. Two people walk in - immediately seated. Another 2 people walk in - immediately seated. This happens two more times until I walk up to the host stand to ask what's up with me having to wait while four parties walked in after me got seated immediately. The guy just said, we'll seat you now. I said to him, "that's not cool that I had to wait, while people who came in after were seated immediately". There was no satisfactory response. Mind you, this is the second time that this recently happened to me.The server? She was great, I can't fault her for anything and tipped more than 20%.However, I ordered the burger, but instead of cheddar, I wanted a different cheese. I got cheddar. I wanted a side salad instead of fries. I got fries. How difficult is it to read the tickets?Lastly, the burgers are only available cooked medium well. When you put that on the menu, you are either admitting that you are incapable of cooking things to the customer's preference, or you're using substandard meat.If you're looking for a much better dining experience, I'd suggest Sedona Taphouse in Troy - they are amazing, or Vinsetta Garage - again, amazing. I've never had the terrible customer service or food bunders that I've had at Brown Iron.

1st time here and it was just okay fish and chips were bland with no flavor, batter needs some seasoning, wife seamed to be satisfied with the beer can Drunken Chicken, brisket egg rolls was void of flavor also. Staff was nice though!

We sat in the bar area on a Sunday. All the employees we encountered were friendly and our server was great. I didn't get her name. She had great suggestions on beer, too. The seasoned & Parmesan fries are delicious. And the prices are great while most places seem to be overcharging for mediocre food & beer.Parking is easy, free and no worries about getting hosed by parking meters like with the new ones downtown. Tickets can get mailed late & $45 late fine quickly added = $65 for a parking ticket. Ridiculous. We avoid downtown now except on Sundays when parking is free. Highly recommend this place and the location in Washington.
Brisket sandwich had a greater percentage of fat than actual meat. The bartender wasn’t allowed to give samples of any beers. Then they didn’t honor the MI Hop Passport because we didn’t order a Brown Iron beer. Won’t be back.
