Wated for a long time for service. Table next to us was full of empty food dishes when we were seated and still there when we left. Our food was not hot when it finally arrived. Another table waited so long to get service, they got up and left. We were not informed they were out of scallops which the waitress should have been informed of. Appetizer was not delivered. Overall, the few customers that were there were serviced poorly especially with only 4 tables in the entire place. We won't be back

Here's an honest review, I was disappointed. We chose to sit at the hibachi grill. Ordered a couple drinks that were pretty small and mostly ice for 10 bucks each, even though the one was listed as a special on the board out front for 7.99. Strike one. We then ordered a sushi roll and crispy rice. The sushi was good but spicy, if you get the chili shrimp roll just know it's SPICY. The crispy rice didn't come out until well after our hibachi dinner was cooked. That was about to be strike two but they took it off the bill before we even asked so strike two avoided, for now. My wife ordered steak and shrimp, I got the seafood trio. The hibachi chef was struggling, maybe he's new. Onions were way undercooked and raw tasting. He gave my wife's hibachi entree shrimp to the other couple at our table and we thought he might realize it but we had to ask for it later. Strike two. He cooked the absolute living crap out of all the shrimp, so they were rubbery and tough. Strike three. He ran out of vegetables and the kid at the other end of the table didn't get any. Strike four. Not nearly enough yum yum as he ran out when he initially doled it out and didn't go get more. The kid at the end of the table got short-changed again on that one. Strike five. The seafood other than the shrimp was well cooked. The chef was friendly, waitress was friendly and apologetic about late sushi and crispy rice. Overall, Genji was better IMO. We dropped $113 plus tip and it was a disappointment. Won't go back.Update, April 2024 - came back because sister wanted to go for her birthday and i could not say no lol. All I can say is the service suuuuuucked. Once again we ordered sushi and did not get it. Salad never came, desert never came, drinks came late and hopefully, you only wanted one because could not get another one. The chef was great and the food was decent. 2 1/2 hours to finish meal at the chefs table. Not acceptable. Timing issues started with the host throughout the meal. Waited 50 min before chef came to grill. Not enough chefs working in the dining room- many tables waiting. The individuals prepping food cart forgot our scallops at our table and they forgot a steak at another table. Rice and veggies missing at another table. In our view this is unacceptable at an upscale Japanese steak house. Our bill was $155.00 for 2- so before we come back we’ll be checking reviews. Overall food was very good

If I could leave zero stars I would. Save your money. This place is horrid!! Went at 5pm during week. Not at all busy so I'd expect service to be somewhat reasonably good. WRONG. Seated and ordered food. 45min later we had only been brought soup and salad. Drink refill? Not a chance, waitress was nowhere to be found. Appetizers? Yeah you are not getting them before meal either. Chef comes to our grill and even with a receipt he had no idea who ordered what. We all (whole table) had to re-tell him our orders because what was on slip was not even remotely close to our order. Food was bland. Like DISGUSTINGLY BLAND. Yum yum was water flavored. I had to ask 3x for a refill which I never got. 100.00 for a meal for 2 that was worth 10.00. Will not be back.

Well the cook himself was super nice but we waited almost an hr after our food was made for STEAMED RICE ! Asked the waitress nicely if I could have my food warmed up and she ignored me said there wasn’t any steamed rice yet and we waited even longer to just end up taking our cold food home don’t waste your 50$ on this place

No calamari, no scallops, no lobster, no tuna (for sushi), no soft shell crab. Literally everything I ordered they didn't have minus the Eel and octopus nigiri. Never offered a menu or anything in substitution. $3 up charge on fried rice. Will never return. So sad.

Service was rough. Our server was clearly sick, sniffling and stuffed up. She should not have been at work. For a higher end dinner in Saginaw, service should be exceptional but our server had zero personality, likely because she was under the weather, but our salad, soup, app plates stayed on the table the entire time- were never cleared and still there when we left. Our drinks were never offered to be refreshed, had to ask for a refill when she finally came back around after our chef was finished. Our chef was great, very friendly and did a good job. Service was slow and lackluster though.

I took my sister here for her birthday and loved it! The chef was super nice I told him about my allergies and he was very understanding and made sure that he didn't use it to Cook my food, and still was able to cook infront of me. A lot of places I go aren't always accommodating to my allergy. I would for sure come back and recommend
