Lounge area had zero chairs available, could only stand while waiting. Zero draft beers available and few bottled beers. Wife ordered Steak / chicken, only received steak. Paid for both. Understand Genjis is changing over, however on such a momentous occasion one would think the planning of the changeover would have occurred prior or waited until after New Years Eve. Expensive for what was received.

Had 5:30 reservations, got there a little early and we were seated immediately. Our server was HORRIBLE and we didn't get our chef until almost 7:00!! And didn't leave until 7:50! We have 2 toddlers and they were great but it was very stressful. We watched other servers got through 2 rounds of guests on a table while we sat and waited and waited.... Never going back

Genji's isn't what it used to be. My wife and I attempted to eat there twice in the past month. The first time we stood in the lobby for almost 5 minutes and never saw a soul. Not a great start, so we left. Then on a Friday night we walked in and the hostess clearly wasn't interested in being there. Sounding like we were bothering her, she asked if we wanted to sit at a table or the grill. We said we'd like a table. She went to check on something, came back and told us the dining room was closed (there were only 3 other cars in the lot) and asked if we wanted to sit at a grill, but just order off the menu. We told her that was fine and she told us to wait while she checked something again. She came back and said the grill wasn't available and asked if we wanted to sit at the sushi bar. We told her not to worry about it, we didn't mean to be an inconvenience, and left. I don't plan on going back.

I wish I would’ve just waited for Hokkaido! This was horbbile! Small portions for $80! Tiny shrimp, dry chicken! Who put corn in fried rice? Gross! I had pick them out! Soup was delicious, salad is a salad! The rice wasn’t fresh! I almost didn’t get the soup and salad because I had to ask for it after she brought my food out! I thought it came with it in my $80 meals! So disappointed ☹️

Waited 20 minutes past reservation time, 45 minutes after seating for appetizers and soup, our chef was not near as energetic as the other ones at nearby tables. Overall I feel like for almost $300 for 6 of us, it definitely could have been a better experience.

When we walked in the door we were told it would be a couple of minutes. It took almost twenty minutes to get seated. We order some sushi. After a half hour and the waiter assuring us twice that our sushi was almost up we left. On a side note they only have one bathroom and no lock on the door. Really small non teppanyaki menu so not much choice if you don't want The hibachi menu. The prices are ridiculously expensive as well.

We made reservations online and as soon as our whole party arrived we were seated at a table. We all got hibachi dinners and they were very good. The flavor of the meal was so good it didn't even need yum yum or ginger sauce. We did not care too much for the pork eggrolls. The menu also said 3 come in an order and instead we got 5 halves which is 2 egg rolls and a half of 1. Our chef was personable and put on a great show. This place was definitely worth visiting while in Saginaw and made it into our top 3 favorite hibachi restaurants that we have been to.

Listen very carefully... Do not go here. Where do I start... made reservations for my wife and I for Sweetest day.. a private table... I stopped in a half hour before our reservation. I brought a dozen roses and asked the manager if they could put them on our table before we were seated. She was very polite and professional and said of course. When we arrived we were seated at a grill with other couples.. not a private table as I reserved. The flowers were sitting on the grill table top... and that my friends.. was the highlight of our experience here. We ordered filet mignon and ribeye dinners... both of which came out ice cold... service was very slow and terrible at best.. food was absolutely tasteless. Seriously... I would have said something to our so called waitress... but I couldn't find her or the manager. We paid the 100.00 tab.. which included a automatic 18% gratuity.. my wife pick up her roses and we left without anyone asking how our meal was or a goodbye.. Goodnight... see ya later... not a word.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!

The hibachi was fine but nowhere is it mentioned that the restaurant is under construction! The exterior and interior are not in good shape. The landscaping outside is not good - weeds and just not taken care of. The interior is fully in construction mode and looks terrible. There's also a huge dumpster in the parking lot assumably for all the construction. We would have chosen to go somewhere else if I knew this before getting to the restaurant and meeting my family there. At that point it would have been tough to go to another place with a party of 8. Also, they were out of several things in their menu - Japanese soda and Mountain Dew, for example.

This used to be our favorite place. Prices have gone up (yes I know everywhere), food quality and taste has gone down as have the portion sizes it seems. Inside needs some updates/work. The grill we were placed at, looked lopsided and needed repair. Overall it was okay, but not the quality we are used to from Genji.

everything was good, the griller put on s nice show while preparing our dinner, the only thing the dished we order from the back end took a little longer, we had 3 people that had to wait at least 4 - 5 minute each for there dish to come out

No longer worth the money. It's getting run down, the food was burnt. Despite our server having two tables it still took a half hour before getting our drinks and meal ordered.

All of the food we got was good and our waitress was nice. This was our first time eating here and I have a couple of complaints. The menu that they gave us didn't match up to their current menu so when we ordered a sushi roll what it said it was in their menu and what we got was totally different. It said in the menu that you got to pick what seafood was in it and that everything was cooked but what we received was raw. My husband still enjoyed it but I did not because I don't care for the raw stuff. Then we went at lunch time and so we assumed we would get the lunch prices but when our bill came we did not get the deal. We said something about it and were told we had to specify that we wanted the cheaper price? It was within the lunch time so I don't understand why we would have to specify the price we wanted. It was just a little weird to me. The food was all good though.

The waiter was very nice but that's about where our good experience ended. There were a lot of fruit flies, the menu was dirty and sticky. The appetizers we ordered were not as described in the menu and the shrimp we got was undercooked and not deveined. The rest of the meat was over cooked and tough. There was also a leak in the ceiling and not one wet floor sign out to warn anyone. We were going to leave after the appetizers but wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt since we heard good things. Overall we didn't enjoy our first experience and will not be going back. I don't think it's worth what we paid.

Expensive, terribly quality food, and the bento box I got was lukewarm (cold) over cooked and undercooked at the same time, and gross. Liked worse than years ago. It's not worth it.
