This is totally good old school Chinese restaurant. Reminds me one of those more expensive dine-in Chinese restaurants in the 80's with nice decor, friendly service and really good food. Unfortunately most Chinese restaurants downgraded to cheap carry out places on every corner. Not Hong Kong Cafe. I love this place. Very friendly service, great food, full bar and nice comfortable atmosphere. Too bad they are closing at 8 pm as we usually go to dinner around that time and unfortunately not open for lunch anymore but if you can make it in this window between 4 and 8 pm, you absolutely should. And did I say that Wonton soup is the best I have ever had?

We ordered take out and had it delivered. This was absolutely the worst take out food I have ever had.Upon opening the plastic bag I found the inside of the bag very greasy. This of course made the Styrofoam containers very greasy. There was so much grease inside the containers even the plastic cup containing the dipping sauce for the eggrolls was too greasy to handle. We ordered 2 extra eggrolls which were also very greasy. The eggrolls were tasteless and inedible. Both meals looked exactly the same, even though we ordered different meals, and both contained the same rubbery chicken. Both meals were drowned in some kind of liquid. There was so much of the watery liquid it looked like we had ordered soup. The meal was totally inedible. It all went into the garbage. $42 worth of garbage. My recommendation is if you are craving Chinese food, look elsewhere.

Soft eggrolls, soggy beef and broccoli, average sweet and sour chicken, dry fried rice. The only redeeming qualities of our meal were the dinner rolls and egg drop soup.

Hong Kong Cafe is a “go to” when you are craving Chinese Food! While they are known for the usual dishes such as sweet and sour chicken, you gotta try the walnut shrimp, and yes, even their Pad Thai! And the bread rolls…that alone makes the trip worth it. Seriously. Enjoy and you’re welcome!

Got vegetable fried rice,Only vegetables I got is these green peas.Eggs you see, I paid extra for It.The little hot sauce container you see.I was told we charge $1.75 plus tax, but because I am a first timer, I was done favor on.My bill for two veg fried rice was $32.Higher than other places. I don't mind paying even extra but what can you do when you get no vegetables in vegetables fried rice. Not even onions. Really? And the host could been a bit nicer. I really felt that I was not welcomed. Not again. You guys got a lot to work on. Attitude, quality and costumer service wise.

I have tried many Chinese restaurants in the area and this one stands out. The beef in the beef fried rice is excellent. It is higher quality than any other restaurant. It is not chewy and fatty. The sweet and sour chicken was lightly coated and excellent every time. The service is friendly and make you feel like family.

Almond chicken was undercooked and I lost my appetite. I’ll go elsewhere next time.

This place should lessen their menu and also not try to make Szechuan dishes because they failed when I visited. So disappointing!

We belong to a local group on FB, Eat Local Macomb, and this place came highly recommended. We were greeted by the owner and seated with our food coming out in a timely fashion. The food was great from the soup to the egg rolls to the main dishes. Hubby had egg drop soup and Almond Chicken, very generous portions and I had Wonton soup and Cashew Beef. We will be back for sure!

Great food and great service. Lots of chinese restaurants only have carryout this restaurant has sit down dining. We are from out of town and were visiting friends and family this weekend, and this was a great choice. Fresh hot food from the kitchen, there's nothing like it.
