My husband & I drove all the way from Toledo to visit Lillie Bell's and we absolutely will be making that drive more often. We don't get a chance to go out to eat often, but Lillie Bell's can have all my money from now on.

One of the worst dinner experiences I have ever had. First we waited to be seated for half an hour and the seats were not even filled. It was 3 of us. We were then escorted to a seat and told we had to to wait for the waiter to come back to get us, then stand in line to order our food She never came back so we got in line on our own after waiting 20 mins. We then waited in line for another 20 mins. to order food. The sweet potatoes were cold, the dressing was salty, the corn bread taste like cake, the turkey was good. Not coming back for another sit down dinner.

The woman who takes phone orders is grotesquely abominable and repugnant, you already hold for an obscene amount of time, while taking my order the first time puts me on hold in the middle of my order. I hang up because that was extremely distasteful. Call back four people ahead of me wait on hold again an obscene amount of time, she comes back on in the middle of my order again places me on hold. Evidently she isn’t the brightest or more efficient person to operates the phone. Decided to take my $150 dollars elsewhere to spend. It’s literally like she can only take one order per call or something, so get someone else to do it. She is going to cost you guys a ton of business, and instead of asking “Is there anything else we can get for you?” She asks in between every order “Is that it?” Phone etiquette = NEGATIVE 7, actually yeah that is it. I will go somewhere else thanks but no thanks.

******LILLIE BELLS & LILLIE MAES ARE NOT THE SAME RESTAURANT!!!!!!! ******Lillie Bells is located INSIDE of a liquor store on Southfield Rd called New Abbey(park around the back) & is carry out only!**Lillie Mae’s is the Buffet, sit down style restaurant on Northwestern Hwy in Southfield.These are two totally different restaurants & A LOT of y’all have them confused. Fact check before y'all keep leaving reviews for the WRONG RESTAURANT!!!!Anyway…. My mother, gma & I ordered today for the first time because we were craving Soul Food & didn’t feel like cooking. Let’s be honest.. A lot of Soul Food restaurants are a hit or miss. Lillie Bells was great. Customer service was great. The lady at the counter was sweet & polite. We ordered the catfish, rib tips, greens , Mac & cheese & dressing & it was good. The food was SEASONED & tender. The greens were great too though!! It’s not often at all to where I get fast food, that actually tastes homemade. They take their time with their food and it shows!! The price was reasonable & they gave you a good amount. I love the fact that the catfish was actually catfish & not swai like a lot of other restaurants portray it to be.So, with that being said… the experience was good. We had no complaints at all. I wish this business much successs!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️Parking: I just recommend to park in the back. The area in the front is super small. There is a back door to enter into as well.

Everytime I go which is once a week I love all the items on the menu but my favorite is the build your on potato or the loaded which always fresh and tasty. The service is amazing and everyone is always pleasant and professional. I recommend it to all my friends because they are consistent and I live pretty far so I just catch them on my way home from work. Last but not least I will just say great Soulfoood is hard to find and this is definitely great place to get it.
