Visited this place for lunch. Ambience wise, best Mediterranean restaurant i have visited in this area. The bread and the lentil soup they served was delicious just melted in mouth. We also ordered chicken biryani and it was average, not much flavourful. Chicken Saj Shawarma was bland. Service was good but the cutlery was not clean enough..!

The food is the best in Michigan. I've been in most restaurants but Ishtar always is the best.
The restaurant was really nice inside, the servers were great, the food was awesome. I've never had this type of food in the past and I was really impressed. I will go back when I have a chance.
First off the food is rediculously delicious, let’s get that straight. But it’s the service at Ishtar that is the most important reason to dine there. We came in on a super busy Night and they got us right in for timely fresh food. Our waiter, Marvin made the night. He knew his menu impeccably. I gave a 5 star review 6 years ago but the quality, taste and value for the portion have decreased significantly in the past few years. I went from visiting this place every other week before the pandemic to 4 times last year and once this year so far. Last 5 times the food has been bad overall and too expensive for what I got. I had keep comimg back thinking the bad experience was bad luck and isolated but today was the same. Lentil soup felt watered down, taste was ok. Hummus consistency was off, taste was unsatisfactory. Rice was greasy and over-seasoned. I have tried the other restaurants in the area and the food here was the best. Staff has always been nice and helpful.
