Beautiful sunset and great salad and dessert. We did experience spoiled lobster with our surf and turf for two. Unfortunately, no one acknowledged the fact that our lobster did have a strong ammonia smell and taste that clearly indicates spoiled lobster. We felt a little unseen in our overall experience today.

Indulgence meets perfection at the Boathouse in Traverse City! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm ambiance and breathtaking waterfront views that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The surf and turf with filet mignon and lobster tail surpassed all expectations, delivering a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. Each bite was a testament to culinary mastery, with the tender filet mignon perfectly complemented by the succulent lobster tail. It was a gastronomic delight that left us craving for more. The backdrop of the waterfront added an extra layer of charm to our evening, creating a serene and picturesque setting that enhanced our dining pleasure. The combination of delicious cuisine and stunning scenery made for a truly magical evening that we will cherish for years to come. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was nothing short of perfection. If you're looking for an exceptional dining destination in Traverse City, look no further than the Boathouse. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience that will leave you with memories to savor long after the last bite. We just booked our hotel for this upcoming 4th of July and look forward to visiting again. Doug Kosch and the team know what they are doing! ~Steve Darragh

Great location to enjoy an evening watching the sun set of et the bay. Service is excellent and the dishes amazingly well crafted without trying to be “too much”. Particular note to the Octopus, a Spanish chef would probably be impressed by the flavors, the crisp texture and the subtle tones given by the garnishment with a not too spicy, not too greasy chorizo. Also the oysters- sitting over a bed of warm alt sprinkled with cracked spices, fantastic.Their meats and surf options carefully sourced and delicious. There are a few tables and bar seats tucked away from the views - the food make them worth but you’d be overpaying if you miss the natural scenery seen from the main room.Service is excellent. While busy, will knew how to inform, serve and connect with customers. Nicely done.Parking: Free parking lot on the premises. Can get busy during peak hours.Kid-friendliness: Guests will appreciate well behaved kids. If you are looking for a lace where kind can be kids, run around, yell, etc. please consider some other venue.

First off, the greeting at arrival is outstanding! We were welcomed at our table promptly and offered water and a drink option, we loved all the local selections. To say the meal was fabulous is an understatement! I highly recommend the scallops and risotto. Everything was just fantastic and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait for our next visit.

This was restaurant week so the value was higher than normal. We had a wonderful table overlooking the water and Ben was an exceptional waiter! Never felt rushed, yet attentive to our needs.

As always we enjoyed a delicious meal and excellent service. Loved the restaurant week menu. Everything was perfectly prepared, and we savored every bite. Loved the Oregon Pinot noir we paired with our meal, it was delicious! Can't wait to come back in the spring for another lovely dinner.

I've been to the Boathouse many times. I've always enjoyed going there due to the quality of the food and the excellent service. I don't know if my bad service was due to exhaustion of restaurant week or if my server was having a bad day, but he forgot my drink on 3 different occasions. I ordered it right before my dinner was served and never received it. I also had to check the bill and I had been charged for something I never received. I would have given 5 stars all around but when you are eating at The Boathouse, restaurant week or not, there isn't really a good excuse for this.

We visited on restaurant week and had a tremendous meal with excellent service. We had a gift certificate that prompted us to eat there. It's a little pricey but the atmosphere was great and it was a good value because of the special pricing during restaurant week.

Always a wonderful time at the Boathouse. Celebrating my birthday there was a treat! The staff were kind and helpful. Food was excellent. Didn't feel rushed. Would highly recommend it to everyone. The Boathouse is on the pricier side but worth it.

We sat on the patio for restaurant week on Thursday evening. The heat was very inconsistent. The service was great. Both of our lobsters were very salty. Of course, the sunset was beautiful.

First time eating at the Boathouse yesterday. The service & the venue were fantastic. The food was quite good. My wife ordered the duck confit. I had the surf & turf. We also ordered the octopus appetizer which was delicious. I would have rated the food 5 stars if my tenderloin wasn’t a tad
