My wife and I were heading back from our day trip through the Old Mission Peninsula wine trail when we had to make a special stop at Bonobo. We found out from the girl at the bar that we had just missed Carter by a couple hours but nonetheless we enjoyed our glasses of Merlot and Riesling with our complimentary glasses. The atmosphere inside was very warm and welcoming. We'll definitely be back in the summer/fall when the outside patio will be open back up!

Excellent Sparkling rose'. Atmosphere was beautiful...enjoyed by the fire. Nic was very nice, and provided excellent recommendations, even for other wineries. Great winter experience!

An exceptional winery offering a range of sophisticated wines alongside a noteworthy selection of quality whiskey. During our visit, our group predominantly explored the red wines and indulged in the spiked apple cider with whiskey, all of which left a positive impression. Notably, even those in our group who typically favor California wines found much to appreciate in the selection. Additionally, the establishment provides enticing deals, allowing patrons to keep the glasses and enjoy a $2 discount on each bottle for every glass of wine consumed—a generous and appealing offer.

Bonobo is one of the most beautiful wineries I have ever been to. The views are stunning and vast. Their staff is fantastic, and their wine is amazing, too! If I ever make it back to MI, I will definitely revisit.

Another great winery in Traverse City, I really appreciate the hospitality of the staff here more than anything. I was nervous to bring my service dog since I wanted to enjoy a winery trip with my friends without being judged like I usually am, but the staff here were extremely welcoming and helped us feel right at home. This one does NOT offer wine tastings for purchase, at least when we went, but they are happy to pour a small amount for you to try before committing to the whole glass. There are plenty of seats, indoors and outside to please a big party. Overall would absolutely come back to this winery, and thanks for everything!

Wine is really good and deck out the back offers some incredible views. We also tried the pretzel bites. Really good with the Bomobo red. Our bartender was super cool and really knowledgeable about the wine. Great place to sit and chill with some my pretty decent wines.

First visit oct 2023 was great. Nice atmosphere, good wine, great setting. So nice, looked forward to going back next day in the evening to enjoy a bottle of wine the sunset and patio with lights and gas fire place as they were open until 8. When trying to order, I could only order by the glass...No sales by the bottle because they have no outside service. Gas fireplace not lite...but said they would, wood fire pits in lower section....not light. Why was none of this not done....if you have, use em. Same with bottles of wine, can't use the excuse of no service outside as they come out to collect glasses and cheese trays etc.

Very good Michigan reds, beautiful scenery and venue. Dog and kid friendly. In door, patio and yard / vineyard seating. Service was very kind and of our tastings in the area - this was our favorite! We enjoyed the Cab Franc throughly but also tried the Bonobo red with toffee notes was pretty good too.

Love the ambiance inside and out of the bonobo winery. Great scenery of the vineyard and Bay in the distance.Wine by the glass and bottles available for purchase. Small bites are available with your glass of wine. Bonobo has created a great space to enjoy some wine with a temporary escape!

They don’t care unless you are on a tour bus. No food because there is a tour bus.No flights because there is a tour bus.No service because there is a tour bus.Bust a wine glass and go somewhere else that gives two craps about taking your money.

I'm only giving 2 . The view is beautiful but everyone was looking for shade but there wasn't any, the indoor seating leaves something to be desired, many things seem unfinished as though rushed during construction. I expected a lot more coming from an owner who is a carpenter. Also be wary of the bathroom slide locks, there are no signs letting you know the "trick" to unlock, but I was stuck in one for over 5 minutes.

Visited Bonobo with a group and we had a wine tasting package/reservation. Pulling up to the vineyard - I didn't see a prominent sign and the building was sort of nondescript? I didn't get where the name Bonobo came from until stopping at the gift shop where it explains bonobos are chimpanzees and bonobos are the closest extant relative to humans. Fun fact! Inside is impressive with very tall ceilings. Lots of seating options - inside the tasting room, on the porch, or outside. Instagramable moment - swing outside with the view of vineyard behind you. Bottles were a little too pricey for me and I wasn't in love with the wines. Ranges were from $22 to $65. Our group did a wine tasting of 5 wines and it included a charcuterie for the table to share. The staff explaining/pouring the wines was friendly and did a great job with explaining the notes and flavors in the wine. However, she was the only person pouring wine and our group was pretty decent, so the flow of pouring the wine to each table/person was slow. Not many sweet options of wine either. The wine maker spoke with our group and explained their history and wine making process. Bonobo is one of the newer vineyards in town with opening in 2014. Not overly personable kind of guy - down to business but very knowledgeable. I didn't get a carefree or overly welcoming vibe from Bonobo? Little more upscale or not as accessible to understanding wines? I think if you take wine more seriously and are more of a wine expert, then visiting Bonobo should be on your bucket list. The views of the vineyard are beautiful though!
