We visited Sleder's for dinner on a Friday night. We atarted with a bowl of clam chowder. For our entrees my wife got the smelt dinner and I got the cod dinner. Our kids got burgers. The food was solid. The chowder was flavorful and it was easy to tell that it was made in house. The fish was tasty and fried well. The fries were a little under crisp and under seasoned for our liking, but I've definitely had worse. To be honest I didn't eat many of my fries as I was trying to make the most of the Friday "all you can eat" fish fry, and focused on my fish.It was a really cool place that was clearly a favorite of locals, and the solid food and friendly service coupled with the fun and quirky decor makes it easy to see how this place has been around for 140 years.

Sleder's makes the best Impossible burger in all of Northern Michigan, and their kettle chips are worth the visit. Relax and enjoy a step back in time at this historic restaurant/tavern.

What a cool OLD restaurant. Hard to believe it's been around for about 140 years! Went for lunch with a co-worker and ate there. Lots of stuff on the walls to look at. Friendly service. Really good Olive Burger with tots on the side. Going back for sure the next time in TC.Parking: Went during a business day for lunch. Plenty of parking available.
