It hurts me to write this review because I love this establishment. I am rating 4 stars overall, it’s more like 3.5, but the dip in the rating is solely because the kitchen has recently fallen flat. Up until a few months ago it was 5 stars in every category. I have been a regular at the bar since the day this location opened and have told so many people that this restaurant is truly the definition of consistency, however this is no longer the case. I had never had a bad meal in the 15+ years I’ve been dining here until a few months ago, and it’s been consistently a problem since then; I dine in the bar every week. I have no idea what’s going on, but if Chris isn’t in the kitchen, there are issues. I now have to ask if he’s there to determine what I order, which is honestly a problem, especially for a fine dining establishment. If he isn’t there several dishes will not be made properly so I can’t order them. And I can say that because I’ve had every dish on the menu so many times I know how they’re prepared. They were truly the same every time, always. And now they are not. It’s just very different. It isn’t awful by any means, but just not the same. So it is clear and doesn’t seem biased, I don’t even know Chris and have never met him. I’ve noticed a pattern that if the Executive Chef isn’t there then the food is not the same or as good as it usually is. Furthermore, some dishes can’t even be consumed. For example, the jalapeño au gratin is honestly the best side dish on the menu and frankly one of the best side dishes out of all steakhouses in the entire USA - yes I’m rating it that high because it’s that good. I have noticed that if Chris is there the dish has finely chopped jalapeños in the au gratin, as it has for 15 years. If he’s not there, it’s just potatoes and they’re super milky without any flavor. I couldn’t eat it. The point of the dish is the extra flavor of the jalapeño; it isn’t overwhelming, it just adds a zing. It isn’t spicy so if guests are complaining of spice than they shouldn’t order jalapeño. It’s in the title of the dish so it should be clear. To have to send it back to have jalapeño added on top is frustrating for guests and also for the staff. This restaurant has always been amazing so it’s disappointing to experience this. I should also add it was even more amazing before the menu changed, which is another story. The old sea bass, snapper and crab cakes were light years better than the current recipe in comparison. But, that is a story for another day, the more serious matter is addressing whatever is going on with the inconsistency in the kitchen as of late. I’m sure Chris can’t be there 24/7 so someone else needs to get it together! I still dine here and do recommend the restaurant and bar because I absolutely love the service and the food is fabulous when it’s on point, but I sure hope this current situation doesn’t get to the point that it impacts customers returning.

Date Night. My Girl spoiled me with a nice dinner. Order what you want she said. So that’s what we did.For starters, Spicy Tuna Roll Please. Love the pretzel sticks in the bread basket, if made In house, I may need to work here for a week or two. Sushi was as good as it looks.French Onion w Brandy, look at that pull… get her a ladder. Beef broth was light, loved the size of bread they dropped in to support all that melted cheese. Our filets were cooked beautifully, I know everyone says that, but I mean it. 1200 degree sear, locking in all the juices, both perfect medium. They let it rest, so I’m not looking at a pool of blood 5 minutes from now.Beranaise sauce was good, but I’m sorry. Everything took a back seat once I got to the garlic whipped mashed potatoes topped with fried garlic chips. Have you ever tried to toast or fry garlic chips? I have, usually ends up being bitter. Seriously guys, I could work for lunch on a Monday, lol.Asparagus & Hollandaise was good , but the chophouse corn on my dates side of the table was delicious, would get that next time.Better grab me a creme brûlée & 2 spoons before I get full & change my mind.Service was outstanding, ambiance & decor was typical of places that charge this much.It was about the food tonight ladies & gentleman. It was obvious all staff on duty tonight knew the mission. Well done Ocean Prime, a memorable date night for sure.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ocean Prime, on Easter, for the first time and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of amazing! Very flavorful and beautifully presented. The service was equally impressive; our server Leo and his assistant were attentive and engaging, making us feel truly welcomed. Special thanks to Chef Andrew for the outstanding effort put into our meals.I can't wait to return to Ocean Prime and explore more of their menu. If you're looking for a place that delivers exceptional food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Really more of a bland flavor overall in all 3 dishes. Grouper, Lobster linguini, and Halibut. The tuna tartare didn't have the distinct flavor it usually does. Well, just because "ocean" is in the name, that doesn'tt guarantee the best seafood.

Mediocre food, paint on the wall was peeling, music was blaring, so hot in the place, $75 for a lobster tail, 2 crab claws, 2 shrimp, 2 small potatoes and 2 asparagus spears. RIP OFF! Total was $400 for 3 people. Really bad, will never go back. The only thing was good was the waiter.

Had a great birthday dinner with family the other night. The entire meal was a delight. I had the grouper, it was very good but the culinary show stealer was the chop chop salad. What a flavorful and visual treat, said the guy who can usually care less about salads. Another delicious surprise were the gouda stuffed tater tots. These bad boys are made in house, not store bought and sprinkled with cheese. Finished the night with a chocolate peanut butter pie. That pie was big and should be shared with your dining partner, both because of its size and it's rich flavor. My only irritant on the night was the low mood lighting. Why Ocean Prime, and other restaurants, do this is beyond me. I hate having to turn on my phone's flashlight just to read a menu. Our population is aging and low light does not make fine dining any more enjoyable. Enough old man griping, enjoy your dinner folks.
